Nintendo has confirmed to IGN that the title is developed by Retro Studios (developers of Metroid Prime as well as Donkey Kong Country Returns for Wii) and tells the story of animal Vikings invading Donkey Kong Island. Viking enemies shown off so far include walruses, owls, and penguins who use crossbows loaded with frozen fish.

Tropical Freeze features 2D side-scrolling (much like Donkey Kong Country Returns) but adds new dynamic camera angles that were shown off in its debut footage. The game also features the return of Dixie Kong.

I really enjoyed the last one. Old school platforming goodness. But I'll wait a while and hopefully get this one sale.

Game is on my CPU desk, got an ounce of some trainwreck and a friend coming over, I'll be twitching our co-op experience from start to finish. I'd be surprised if he decides to leave before we beat the game, regardless of what time that will be lol We usually just binge game until we complete it.

Look for that stream around 2pm est... http://www.twitch.tv/0nly0neBeerLeft

Toys R Us has a deal this week where if you buy this game you get 40% off of any Wii or WiiU games, up to three.

It would be a lot more tempting if they sold LEGO City Undercover for $40 like everyone else but they still have it for $50.
