I'm starting to think both of these.

I pre-ordered a PS4 but really there aren't any games that excite me. I hardly play what I have as it is so I might cancel it or sell it for profit.

I have a really bad feeling that something bad is going to happen at launch with the Xbox One. I am not sure what but I'm thinking the internet is going to explode or something.

I still have my Day 1 PS2 and had no issues outside of having to clean the lens a few times

I plan to be playing my 360, PS3, and hopefully newly constructed PC.

I haven't purchased a launch console since the SNES, and from the way the launches have seemed to go each generation, I'm better for it.

If I get a new console day one, it would most likely be a PS4. $100 less, no bullshit Kinect required, I don't have a cable box, etc.

As much as people scoff about how hard Sony is pushing indies, some of the best games from the past couple of years have been indie games, and if they can continue to make their platform more appealing to indie devs, that'll be big plus as well.

You are definitely one of the very lucky few. I went through 4 PS2's, and from what I remember, that launch was a mess.

I am with you there, but honestly, I find it more worth my while to just get indies on Steam, because they're almost always cheaper (and will definitely be at some point, probably the Xmas after their release).

I'm very curious to see how it goes on the PS4 though.

agreed that is great for sony but you know you will be playing those indies on the PC.

Sony sounds like they're giving indies a ton of freedom with pricing, and I'm interested to see if that turns into sales similar to what you can find in the PC marketplaces for indie games.

I can always upgrade my video card and extend the gaming life of my PC a few more years too.

One thing the $399 price tag tells me about the PS4....it'll probably be a long ass time before they do a price drop.

well if it sells well then there will be no need for it. Price drops are usually to boost stale sales. But yeah the lower you start obviously the less room you give yourself.

Definitely a PS4. Xbox with the Kinnect and online requirements ftl. Won't get it at launch though, at least not until Infamous and KH3 come out. Might pick Madden up as well.

Trying to save up money for other stuff, so I'll wait the minimum of 6 months (most likely a year). If everything is good and no major complaints with Madden/The Show, I will pick those up with PS4 purchase. As for the Xbox...I'm not sure if I will get one in the first 2 years. It would have to go down in price and have kick ass exclusives.

maybe not a manuf. price drop but during the holidays, I could see stores doing sales or giving customers a GC w/ purchase or free game.

I have never owned a launch system, but I am still scared of all of the RRD stories from the 360. If a spent $400+ for a system and it died on me within a year or two and the best thing they could do for me it to tell me to buy another one I would be furious..enraged, etc I would probably commit an act of violence.
