Former SOCOM creative director David Sears unveils H-Hour: World's Elite for PS4 on Kickstarter
If we're to pinpoint one genre of video game that has really expanded its scope throughout the generation, it would be shooters. Indeed, nearly every new release features some kind of gun-to-gun gameplay, and the market is frequently reminded of the ubiquitous FPS by the yearly release of a new Call of Duty or Battlefield title. According to a new project on Kickstarter, the creative director of the original SOCOM titles is looking to bring a new shooter to the PlayStation 4, titled H-Hour: World's Elite, which will have a strong focus on authenticity and real world experiences.
A video posted alongside the project illustrates Sears' vision for the game.
"What if I didn't try to make a sequel? What if I took the design approach from those early days, and imagined what an evolved version of those games would be like today? What if I didn't try to recreate those early games exactly, but took the chances with design that were just too risky at the time? What if I didn't limit myself to Navy SEALS, but instead aspired to tell the personal stories of elite war fighters from various special forces units around the world?" asks Sears.
You can find the full video on the game's Kickstarter page.
