If we all can't play tonight, make some time to create a character and play up through getting to the E-Rep camp.

It's very early on and it'll be a great starting point once we can get this going officially.

Downloaded the game and the patches. At the "Create New Character" screen. Will be doing that in a bit after dinner.

As I found out with Bomber and Swarley, explaining the game =/= Fun for anyone.

Here's some links to read for all the pertinent info you're gonna want to know sooner or later:

Weapons: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...weapon-skills/ - Guns, Gear Rarity and why you eventually need to ditch you good shit for better shit.

Salvage Matrix: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...alvage-matrix/ - On your Character screen, this is next tab over; basically, this is where you put gun parts you find onto the guns you get in-game.

Anything from Scopes to Ammo Clips, etc.

Weapon Mods: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...4/weapon-mods/ - What the fuck do the Mods actually do.

Weapon Synergy: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...eapon-synergy/ - Same gear types added together give you stacked bonuses.

Contracts: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...nce-contracts/ - At a certain point, you unlock "Contracts" which are hourly/daily objectives that you can fulfill for XP and Points towards a particular faction.

If you do enough of them, you can go to said Faction's specific supply box and trade them in for rare gear that's super awesome.

Challenges: http://community.defiance.com/en/2013/06/12/challenges/ - Side missions that earn you XP, Money, and sometimes Mods; Get your name on the Leaderboard.

Co-Op: http://community.defiance.com/en/201...ce-co-op-maps/ - Play with friends, get rewarded.

Given the amount of free gear you find lying on the ground (especially with the perk that allows you to get a better percentage of drops if you start with the Cloak power and level from there)...

...the amount of free XP, guns and materials they just throw at you, it's easy to get 5000 scrip if you scrape and save.
