Except you were no where close to my question about was putting all the effort into fighting really worth the time considering it will get old quickly. I already know I can just not accept a fight challenge (my player is always set to zero fighting because it is pointless).

The part he says 'the first person fighting seemed to detach from the game' just had me shaking my head, remembering back to NHL10 when they were jizzing over themselves about how great this was ... and now they shit on it.

Honestly, just slap in the old blades of steel fighting, and spending the time more wisely on things that need to be improved.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

mailing it in is an understatement. NHL has no competition anymore and it shows.

Oh yeah, you can completely tell that. No shock that when 2K was making games up until 2K10, new and amazing things were coming out. Be a Pro, EASHL, and to a less extent, even though we don't play it, HUT. Now we can updates to the engine every year, some kind of new fighting system, an easier way of deking and live the life.

The biggest thing I thought they could have made into a super feature was the GM Connected. Last years system was alright, with very slow menu screens, no live draft, but still was a solid first step. 1v1 games were actually enjoyable to play, and every game I played against Leaf, KG and Wr50l had that playoff feel to it. They were always close and enjoyable. Though playing the PC was shit, and I wish they gave me more options as the owner to see who had games still to play.

But sadly, that is the best thing they have put out since NHL09, and it felt like it was 2-3 years to late. If Gm Connected came out in 2010, we would have ran with that shit like crazy, probably playing multiple seasons and having a ton of fun.

I don't want to turn into a broken record like the madden guys, who every year shit on the game almost IMO for the sake of just shitting on the game. But there is only so many years you can take these "new and improved features" before you are just like, 'really, please stop, you are embarrassing yourself.'

And just a small commentary on the podcast, I haven't got through it all just yet, but JayD man, you really need to stop saying "very cool, very cool" after every single thing someone says. I swear the 'very cool' count was up to almost 20 and I hadn't got through half the interview yet, and I was fast forwarding a lot.
