The only thing that I read that I disagreed with was that there's no Cliff Burton. I understand why Jason Newstead was left out, but Cliff was a HUGE part of the band in the early days. He was part of their 2 best albums...and now Trujillo plays on Sanitarium during the early days?

Fair enough, but if he were still around, he'd probably be as big a sellout (well, maybe not) as Lars and would be OK with the whole thing. Cliff 'em all.
1980's Metallica was a whole different monster than 2000's Metallica...basically, the music was better and the drama was minimal. The drama all started with Newstead and going on MTV.Comment

I think the drama all started with napster.i think Jason left the band because he didn’t want to deal with the drama. Your right, 80ies metallica is nothing like todays metallica. If cliff were still around I hope he would have prevented lars from becoming the anti metallica that he is today. 80ies metallica with cliff would never have allowed a GH Metallica imo.
Its funny that u guys are talking about cliff related to GH. I was just thinking about this on my drive into work today. Leaving him out is a big deal. They should had pulling teeth in the game with him playing. It would have been a nice tribute to him. They probably left him out cause they would have had to pay his family to use him in the game.....FAGS!Comment

Cliff is on a poster you can see in the Metallica's Practice Area (or something to that effect) venue, too... and I think Jason is on it too, but I didn't get a real good look. No big deal to me, I don't like Trujillo but he is what he is and he is Metallica's current bassist, so he may have felt slighted if they included the other two as well.
I haven't gotten mine yet, I preordered late and won't get it until mid-April. Not that I really care, the Expert+ is so insane I'll never use it. The verses in Dyer's Eve are charted pretty much exactly like it's played on a real kit which is nuts to say the least.By the way, did you GS pre-order guys get your free bass pedal? I did. Just picked up my copy tonight. I thought it was going to be some small, cheap piece of shit but it looks decent,

After the black album it was pretty much down hill.

Heh, I finally found something that bothers me about the game, and it just bothers me because I am a drummer IRL, the fucking HiHat on the drums is always open. It makes a way different sound open than it does closed. I know Lars uses a clutch most of the time so there is no reason for them to be open all the time...but I am nitpicking LOL.Comment
