    [ALL] Evolve

Evolve has been revealed as Game Informer’s February cover reveal – it’s a four-player co-op alien shooter coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Game Informer reports that Evolve developer Turtle Rock consists of former Counter-Strike devs and Left 4 Dead creators. Naturally then, it’s a co-op multiplayer experience.

It’s being published by 2K Games – which bought the IP for $10.8 million back at the big THQ auction – and sees four soldiers fighting a player controlled alien that will evolve to become bigger and more fearsome over matches. Each alien hunter boasts unique abilities, but even though it’s a four-on-one fight, the alien player will be a force to be reckoned with.

So they haven't even released a trailer or any gameplay video but have set a release window for Autumn of this year and they've opened up preorders and listed their preorder bonuses.

I honestly don't think I've had less interest for a big release. I don't even know when it comes out? Tomorrow? Next week?

I can see this game bombing. There doesn't seem to be much excitement for it at all.

I also keep reading that they're really trying to bend people over with DLC. Day one shit and already posting about future DLC packs but aren't offering any kind of Season Pass the would save customers some money. For a new IP, especially one that is pretty bare bones, that seems like a horrible strategy and is going to turn a lot of people off.

Did anybody bother to give this game a chance?

When I first heard about the game I thought I had found my non sport title that was going to make me want to get a next gen title. After reading some thoughts here, and talking with friends, it seemed nobody thought it was going to be much. So I picked up my pre-order but didn't actually bother to play the game until this week.

I am having a lot of fun with this. I don't know how long it will last, I'm probably still in the honeymoon period, but leveling up individual classes and figuring out what you like to do is pretty cool to me. It's fun, imo, that all 4 of the hunters feed off each other. They all have skills that are unique and even the different characters within classes do their thing differently. I'm focusing on maxing out my Medic first, I think I'll try either the Trapper or monster after that.

I gotta admit, I played as a Monster for the first time last night. There is a stealth aspect of this game that reminds me of, oddly enough, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow. IIRC, That was the first edition of Sam Fisher that had multiplayer capabilities, and sneaking around and using stealth as the "spy" was immensely entertaining for me personally. This game is very similar in that aspect imo. Playing as a Hunter I've played a couple of guys who's monster really kept you on your toes. There's something about chasing after the thing and constantly losing it, just to see it come out of some random bush and swallow your ass up before you can say a word. It reminded me of using the Mercenary in Pandora Tomorrow, chasing after a spy just to lose them, and then getting your neck snapped because he got the drop on you.

I don't know what the price is. But if/when it eventually drops, I think it's the perfect game to have fun with if you have a small group of people to play with. Even if it's just a change of pace.
