I'm curious first to see what EA brings for their next gen golf game. The last Tiger Woods was excellent.

The scenery in this game is nice though. Animations look a bit awkward.

Agreed... I felt Tiger 14 should have easily been in the running for SGOTY. Simulation mode was NO JOKE!!! I think EA made the smart move by moving away from Tiger to retain more control over the series.

Hopefully this title is pretty decent. I'm certainly purchasing. I need my golf fix (retired from real golf until my kids get a bit older)

Animations are rigid, and I'm not seeing much ball physics or bounce that seems realistic off of drives but certainly looks solid!

I expect more from next gen. Course creator looks cool. Don't need real players. Created players work fine.

Definitely gonna get this game. The idea of user-created courses sounds awesome. Not listening to Nantz-Feherty sounds even greater. That said, I love TW14 and still play it.

It just seems odd at times with the highlighted ball how it literally goes straight. For those of you who don't know how a golf ball travels, it is rarely (if ever) just a simple parabola going straight forward. Most golfers hit an angled parabola that twists over itself at some point.

This game releases in the Spring?!? It looks rough as hell. The character models looked like PS2 quality and the voice over was horrid. The club didn't even look like it was striking the ball either.

                  Here are some more details:

-Tours and Tournaments can be created and shared with the world.
-No AI players, any competition will be with ghost balls/other user players.
-Game will be quickly iterated after release, makes you wonder what the business model will end up being.
                  -No PS Move/Kinect support initially.
-Swing mechanics are analog stick driven.
                  -No career mode.
-Everyone has the same attributes, so no advancing of skills or anything like that.
-Can’t set club distances, preference was to have everyone compete as equals.
-At the moment, no officially licensed gear appears to be in the game.
                  -All Fictional Courses
-Every created course is rated on a 1-10 scale by users and can be stored as a favorite.
-Each course is rated from Easy to difficult based upon how users are playing it.
-Three ways to play: Stroke play, match play, four ball.
-No difficulty modes. Since its you and the course, your difficulty mode is the difficulty of the courses you decide to play.
-You can start with a completely blank slate and create courses one hole at a time.
-No arcade features like power boosts, etc. Goal is to give a simulation golfing experience to users.

This sounds like it will be a FTP game. That would be cool.

But if there are no boosts or attributes what would they gouge us on with micro transactions?

                        New courses, clubs, clothing?

                        And hats. Don't forget hats.

Plus given the fact that courses are procedurally generated as well as there being a full course creator, I just don't see this being a FTP game.

Some new reads about the game are out. It sounds solid. We can create private vsn tournies and stuff. If the community features work and the gameplay is solid it could be a winner.
