The brain farts in this thread.
NFL 2k5 and AP2k8 were leaps and bounds more innovative than Madden. They were as close to getting the fundamentals of football correct as any football games ever have. Madden has never remotely come close to getting it right. The only thing they ever did right was the momentum/weight they added to players and IIRC there were 2 other NFL games competing with them at the time.
Thunderhorse just pood and peed all over these ridiculous assertions about EA. They've been a garbage development crew for over a decade and are minor league compared to the talent other AAA titles get.
Seriously get over it. EA exclusivity killed the football gaming genre. What you have now is a basterdized arcade game for the masses.
But The Smurfs sold more tickets than Money ball so clearly it was a better movie amiright guys ?Best reason to have a license.

^^^ if you add "in my opinion" to the start of that post... then it's possible. From the looks of it most people would prefer Madden 25 next gen over either of those games. Add in the fact that you are only as good as your last game... and this is BB... and you have a big mess.
You don't hear me saying "well if NBA Live didn't go away for a few years....".
Bottom line... if 2K wanted to make another game... they would. It is a pretty telling sign that they haven't. I would love to see competition again. I doubt it would make the game better but obviously choices are a good thing. Nothing wrong with that... but I'm certainly not willing to make assumptions based off of either companies track record (neither are good).
