So you're idea of 'Fixing' is not use it?

    Hm...

User control brings the variable to formula, and that's really what we want, that randomness in the game. Gotta fix the play at the line of scrimmage, it's never been suitable for anything other than the fucking SNES.

So line play is going to fix the kicking game? How is that going to fix the user vs user (or vs CPU) kicking game? Gotcha....

I will say that the line play on the Xbox One and PS4 is significantly better than on the 360 and PS3. Not perfect by any means but you can definitely see the improvements that Clint Oldenberg was talking about on our next gen podcast last August.

There's always going to be mfers exploiting shit... I'd rather play the damn game and have some bum pull some shit as opposed to watch some NFL Head Coach shit

Special teams is 90% blocking... according to a study I did, just now, in my head.

Call this series "Putting a Band Aid On It: Special Teams"

OK, what affects most kicks in the NFL? Bad snaps! I will again enter with my "hike or Snap Meter" idea and say that if in the process you have a bad snap and still get the kick off it will affect the trajectory of the ball causing it to lose distance and accuracy. Once you have hiked the ball then the kick would be a simple PGA Tour type of swing mechanic for the leg drive of the kicker...
It might be to much, but what I have posted has a lot of truth to it, and if we want Madden as close to simulation football then out of the comfort zone we must go.

The easiest way to put this in would probably be to put in the snap meter and take out control of the actual kick. Doesn't sound half bad as an option, because as you said, most bad kicks in the NFL are a result of bad snaps anyways.

So how often should we expect to see these "Fixing" articles, buckeye?

Gonna shoot for once a week. May do NBA Live next. Basically I just want to look at one aspect of each game then move on. Pretty much something that gets overlooked. Then go on to the obvious stuff.

I thought this was going to be an article on how horrible kick returns are in the next gen versions of Madden 25. Returning a kick is basically non-existent even with the best returners in the game. The special teams players just do not even attempt to block. Period. On P3#/360 this isn't an issue. Maybe it's too easy on those versions but I'd much rather have it that way than knowing EVERY time I'll be lucky to make it to the 20 yard line.
Why are there no sliders for this?

Not sure on the sliders part... they never really worked in the first place that I'm aware of.

As far as not being able to return kicks I have had plenty of success on NG with Travis Benjamin, Mike Thomas, and Joe Adams. Not many touchdowns (only maybe 3 in 25 or so games) but still pretty good yardage.

I know in online ranked people were racking up yards on kickoff returns. Back jukes were devastating and had to be toned down on the last patch.
