    [PS3] Playstation 3 Issues

Hopefully someone can help me here. My PS3 has stopped read ONLY game discs. I can watch regular DVDs, Blu-Rays and that, but as soon as I put in a game disc, it won't read it. It all started when I bought a used game the other day that was scratched up a bit, and I tried to play that and it wouldn't read it. Now it won't read any of my games. Any thoughts on what's wrong and what I can do to fix it?

I had this happen to my PS4. Unfortunately they just told me to send it in and gave me a new one. Hope it's not the case, but you may be out of luck.

Same here ... happened right before PS4 came out so I sold all my games and put them towards PS4. I only use my PS3 for Digital Copies now.

So, I've been messing around with it, and I've gotten it to play most of my games. It still won't play a couple, which is frustrating because I'm light heavyweight champ on UFC and that won't play haha.

Don't ask what I did either because I don't know. Just kept trying to play them over and over while changing some settings, and they finally started working.

Check Craigslist for a video game console repair store in your town. I know a guy that fixes them for a reasonable fee here locally. Should be someone in your town as well.

Bluray movies are far less intensive for the laser to "read" than games are. If I were to guess the laser may have blown it's proverbial wad trying to strain to read that shitty scrqatched up game . The system overworked itself and burned itself out. Did you hear the fan blowing like crazy? Even if you did get it to read some games it is mostly likely going to go belly up for good sooner rather than later.

I still rememeber all of the problems the first gen PS1's had. I had to flip mine over in order to play anything.

Of course it didn't help that it sepnt most of it's like on a carpeted floor in my buddy and I's bachelor pad.
