Assassin's Creed: Unity

Reviews have come back down a bit, but I think that's a bit shit. The missions are pretty damn good, story so far has been great, and there's a character in an AC with some development. Sure there are bugs, like I wish I'd stop falling through map every once in a while, but it's up there with Black Flag in terms of quality.Comment

So I'm reading about a lot of PCs having issues and low frame rates. Looks like I'll be shelving Unity until they patch it.The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"Comment

Fun bits I've seen so far:
Co-Op has to be unlocked.
To do so, you gotta play all the way up until after you become a member of the Assassin's.
There's monetary transactions involved in-game if you want to fast-track through the game.
This was kept from reviewers allegedly and that is HILARIOUS.
And even w/ all that, I still dig AC: Unity.Comment

Also, is this a stand alone story? Am I screwed if I haven't played the past several games?Comment

You pay real monies for in-game boosts... completely optional though.
Although the Internet Gaming Community sees it as a War Crime even though you never actually HAVE to spend your ducats to play the game.
Also, I think you can just play from Unity and be fine if you don't want to go back and play AC I - IV and the side-story stuff.
They give you a short review as to what's going on "in the real world" before you pop into "the game".Comment

I'm definitely going to play all of the other games at some point (I've only finished 1 and 2) but I want to jump right into this with the wife.Comment

I will give AC: Unity this:
AC4 let you eventually become a mass-murdering, killing-machine pirate w/ a little work.
Unity? You either brute-force a solution (eating hours of your time w/ every death and restart at an earlier checkpoint)...
...or you plan stuff out and get it done "the right way."
Best part is, you can dick around w/ side-missions and stack up some quality loot to upgrade yourself out of the Minor Leagues in a jiffy like I did.
Went from Scrub Initiate Arno to Badass Arno w/ a chainmail hood, old-school SWAT vest and Soldier spats w/ a side of shin-plate.
My dude looks like he's ready to start a war w/ the two-handed Axe he has wields.Comment

It depends on how you feel about playing with a hall monitor and someone who gives tickets to people talking on their cell phone while driving.Comment

I'm really enjoying this game. t reminds me so much of AC2 which I loved. The wife and I basically just got past the point where co-op is unlocked. I Hoping to try today or tomorrow.
I will say that I do not miss the AC controls. I feel like I'm fighting with the controls more than anything. I just want to go through the fucking window!!!Comment
