Anywho, the development for Rebirth is coming to an end:
Development on The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the updated edition of the 2D roguelike from 2011, is "nearing the end of development," lead designer Edmund McMillen revealed today, hightlighting new features coming to the remake.
Rebirth is a full revisit of the original Flash-based game that McMillen revealed in November 2012. The Binding of Isaac's art has been completely overhauled with a new art style for Rebirth. The game will run on a new engine, not Flash, and will introduce more than 150 new items, three new playable characters and two player local co-op.
Different sized rooms, new enemies, chapters, bosses, endings and more feature in Rebirth. The game will also release with a new soundtrack. Fans can listen to the first three publicly released tracks on the official Binding of Isaac dev blog, which is updated weekly with new info on the game.
Rebirth is heading to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC. Previously, McMillen did not rule out releases on other platforms such as Nintendo 3DS, but noted that the game's religious content "currently goes against Nintendo's publishing rules."
