[ALL] Xbox Live users spend 5 hours per day on Xbox One

Xbox Live users spend 5 hours per day on Xbox One -- How much time do you spend?
Total playtime includes time spent using apps, playing games, and watching TV; Twitch off to a hot start on Xbox One thanks to Titanfall.
Microsoft today announced in a blog post on the Xbox Wire that Xbox Live members worldwide are spending an average of five hours per day on Xbox One using apps, playing games, and watching TV. Microsoft didn't say which category is the most popular, but on Xbox 360, gamers spent more time with entertainment apps than they did playing online games.

Helping drive Xbox One usage, Microsoft said, is the new Twitch app, which launched last month alongside Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter Titanfall. Since launch, users have broadcast nearly 23 million minutes of content, which includes 2.7 million minutes broadcast on March 10-12--that's the most ever for a Twitch console app on its first day.

In addition, 30 percent of all Twitch unique broadcasters were broadcasting from Xbox One during the app's first day, Microsoft said. For its first week, the Twitch app on Xbox One attracted 108,000 unique users, making up 22 percent of Twitch's unique broadcasters in the same period of time.

This level of usage is far and away better than "another console," Microsoft said, likely referring to the Twitch app for PlayStation 4. "It took another console a month to achieve what the Twitch app on Xbox One did within its first week," Microsoft said.

As you might have guessed, Titanfall is the most broadcast game on Twitch using Xbox One, with more than 10 million minutes being streamed through the system to date.

"Microsoft has a put a lot of time and effort into ensuring their Twitch integration would be a robust experience, and based on the amount of Xbox One owners streaming from their living rooms, the move paid off," Twitch COO Kevin Lin said in a statement. "This high rate of adoption for our console integrations has elevated our role in the entertainment industry. People go to Hulu to watch TV, Netflix to watch movies, and now they go to Twitch to watch and broadcast video games. We're really fortunate for such a passionate and progressive community who made this all possible."

Danny O'Dwyer gets hands-on with the Twitch streaming app on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to see which experience is superior.

I actually turned my XBone on last night for the first time in over a week. I was "playing" it for 3+ hours...watching The Walking Dead.
