On March 11, an unspecified issue affected Xbox Live, negatively impacting users' ability to sign into the service. Though the issues cropped up on Xbox One-exclusive Titanfall's launch day, Respawn Entertainment's server-dependent game was not to blame, Microsoft said. If you were affected by the downtime, it looks like you'll be compensated with a free week of Xbox Live Gold, it has been revealed.
According to IGN and Videogamer, Microsoft is notifying users via Xbox Live Messages that they've received a 7-day subscription. It's not clear if this bonus offer will go out to all Xbox Live Gold members or only those affected by the recent downtime.

Microsoft's Xbox Live Service Status page reports any issues with the service and provides a timetable for when they might be fixed. Right now, no issues are besetting Xbox Live.
