ASSETTO CORSA – IER CHEVROLET CORVETTE DP RELEASED

IER Modding Group has sure been busy on their United SportsCar Mod for Assetto Corsa, and now we get to see the fruits of their labor! They have released the Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype, which marks the first third party car to be publicly released for Assetto Corsa.

Darin and Jason got to test out a preview build of the car last month, and they enjoyed it, so now it’s your turn to give it a spin. The car is based off the 2014 spec car, which features a 5.5 liter V8 (which can produce up to 600 horsepower!) mated to a 6-speed gearbox. At only 2300 pounds, this combination equals an insanely fast car!

Current known issues:

The model is equivalent to the 2nd LOD, the first one will be much smoother around the edges, and nicer to look at, so keep that in mind. And there isn’t really an interior yet…..

The AI are wonky. If @Aristotelis could give me an explanation of the .ini for the AI via PM that’d be awesome (I’d add it to the physics questions database as well)

There are NO LODs at the moment, so the car will be much more taxing on your PC than any of Kunos’.

LOTUS 98T COMING IN NEXT ASSETTO CORSA UPDATE

Kunos Simulazioni has announced that an eagerly awaited car will be making its way to Assetto Corsa soon. The Lotus 98T, as driven by Ayrton Senna and Johnny Dumfries in the 1986 Formula One season, will come to Kunos’ Early Access title with the next update, which is slated for July 18th (next week has no update, likely due to Independence Day in the US).

With over a thousand horsepower in a car just a hair under 1,200 pounds, this car will be a monster on-track! Kunos is also hard at work making AI enhancements for the sim, to ensure that they will be able to handle the car as well.

Visual enhancements are also in the pipeline, with some graphics engine changes coming in the next update. However, most things will be under the hood, with not much visual improvement until the new algorithms are more stable. More information about the visual upgrades will come in the near future.
