[XB1] SUPER TIME FORCE

So, I mentioned it in the thread about shooters, but Super Time Force drops on Thursday, May 15th, on the Juan and the 360. At times I feel like the only person alive excited for the game, and other times I feel like the only person alive that's heard of it.

For those that haven't heard of it, here's the video from their website:

Clearly, this is a game that is right up Maynard's alley. Anyone else excited for it? I feel like it's one of the few games I'm remotely hyped about in the not-too-distant future.

Sidenote: the fact that there is a character in it that is a dolphin named Dolphin Lundgren might be the greatest thing ever.

I saw a trailer for this a year or so ago, and I really hope they bring it to PC eventually. It looks pretty damn fun.

I can't imagine that Capy won't, honestly. This game would make gobs on Steam, as opposed to being a Juan and 360 exclusive, where I feel like the market for it consists of myself and like, 5 other people.

I have not yet, you? I watched the Quick Look and it looks right in my wheelhouse, but I think that I'm a little done with Early Access games at this point.

It definitely looks cool, but I also think it looks waaaaaaaaaaay too busy for my tastes. I think it would get way too frustrating very quickly. I think you described it before as "bullet hell" and it does look like one of those games or a shmup, combined with side scrolling platforming.

It's definitely a bullet hell game, but the thing that I think that is really cool (and that the trailers don't do the best job of really driving home) is that basically the more you die and rewind, the larger your "army" gets. The ghost run dudes that previously died still kill everything that they killed on a previous run, so say, during a boss, you could end up doing quadruple damage if you die 3 times.

That being said, that aspect definitely adds to the insane "busyness" of the game, for sure.

I can't seem to find a price but people are speculating $15. It's just hard to justify that when a similar game like Merc Kings was just given away to PS+ users on PS4.

I would guess $15. I don't now if I'd call Merc Kings similar, but either way it's hard to argue free vs. $15. It'd be nice if it were a GWG free game, but considering this month's on 360 is Dust (great game, by the way), I highly doubt it.

I'm getting it either way, but I think the game has a small enough following as it is, it'd behoove them to at least try for $10 if possible.

Well, I don't know if this is a front pager for Juan or not, but for a game that MS sealed up as an exclusive, they didn't go out of their way to give it ANY exposure on the 360.

The first appearance of it was literally if you bring up the list of new Arcade games. It's like Super Meat Boy all over again. I remember Klepek one time basically saying that Xbox has an ads team and a games team, and a lot of times, those teams don't talk. How dumb.

So, this game is awesome! Probably not worth $15 to everyone, but I'm having a ton of fun with it. More of a puzzle game, to be honest, than a bullethell kind of thing, and that's alright with me. The humor is great, the music is great, and the graphics are Maynardtastic!
