I play the formation I want but fit the roles of each position to my players.

No, but I can always switch. I am not tied to a tactic or a save, yet.

It's the same strategy for any tactics really.

Forget the star ratings, they're subjective enough as it is because they're only tied to your current squad talent.

Pick a tactic, then write down the key attributes for each role (highighted in tactics), add up the numbers for the players able to play that position and voila, you have your best available player.

System over talent for me. I always try to find the best guys to fit into a rigid framework.

Mostly because I'm a terrible tactician and beholden to what has worked in the past.

I usually find a way to include talented guys with the changing roles. With transfers I do seek guys who I can plug in so I guess I really don't go talent over system too often.

Don't throw around tactics too much, stick with one for at least 2 months at a time. It takes a while to learn them.
