New York – 2K today announced details of 2K Showcase, the story-driven, single-player campaign in WWE 2K15, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Through high quality cinematics and historic WWE footage, players will intimately explore two notable WWE rivalries: the bitter rivalry between Triple H and Shawn Michaels from 2002 to 2004, as well as WWE 2K15 cover Superstar John Cena and CM Punk’s spirited rivalry spanning 2011 to 2013.

"The moment Triple H ended his longtime friendship with ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ by slamming him with a Pedigree was a defining moment in WWE history,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. “No fan can deny the fierce competition marking the notorious battles waged between Cena and Punk. These two rivalries are firmly etched in WWE history, and 2K Showcase enables fans to take part in those memorable experiences."
2K Showcase will tell the epic history of the two rivalries through documentary-style video packages of classic WWE footage, authentic WWE Superstar commentary and cinematic cut scenes. In the 33 available matches across the rivalries, players will be tasked with completing a set of bonus historical objectives that will unlock new WWE Superstars, championship titles and alternate attire that can be used in all other WWE 2K15 game modes. With this wealth of unlockable content, players can recreate current rivalries or stage dream matchups between WWE Superstars of the past and present. Additional 2K Showcase rivalries will be made available via downloadable content following the game’s scheduled release on October 28, 2014, in North America and October 31, 2014, internationally.
"Featuring two of the biggest rivalries in WWE history, including my storied matches with Shawn Michaels, there’s no doubt our fans will experience the thrill first-hand through WWE 2K15," said Paul Levesque, Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative at WWE. "2K Showcase brings WWE to life in a way our fans have never seen before through a video game."

To get the most realistic representations of Superstars for 2K Showcase and beyond, WWE 2K15 will feature full head scans for character models. For Shawn Michaels, that meant 2K actually bringing its scanning technology to HBK’s native Texas earlier this year to get the WWE Hall of Famer's likeness.
"To be a part of this game is an exciting thing for me and again, just very thankful to be a part of it," said Michaels. "As much as I try to keep up with the advancements, it's amazing what [2K does]. The graphics and the realness are nothing short of amazing and I'm excited to be a part of it."
Developed collaboratively by Yukes and Visual Concepts, a 2K studio, WWE 2K15 is not yet rated by the ESRB. WWE 2K15 is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems, as well as Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, on Oct. 28, 2014, in North America and Oct. 31, 2014, internationally. WWE fans who pre-order WWE 2K15 at any participating retailer will receive two playable Sting characters at no extra cost on launch day.

I'm wondering if the DLC related Showcases will be actual rivalries that happened, or if they plan on putting together one or two fantasy matches involving Sting. I wrote a brief piece for the front page that goes on tomorrow and I looked at possible matches, and that got me thinking whether or not that would be a possibility.
I also wouldn't mind to see Hogan and Sting chasing each other in WCW for the title.Comment

Sidenizzle: I already pre-ordered PS4 Hulkamania version. Unless the gameplay looks terribad, I'll be sticking with it.

Full roster reveal already? Sweet. I hate when they used to reveal 3 superstars a week for like 2 months. This isn't Madden lol.

WWE 2K, is a series of professional wrestling sports simulation video games that launched in 2000. Browse the WWE 2K Franchise here.
Not even the full roster yet, as they have a few more to announce and also there are always DLC packs.
For cf24, I wouldn't worry about Goldberg. If you can Gamefly this game, do it. After about a week, there are already folks who create just about every wrestler you could imagine as characters, and you can download whatever you like. The community of the WWE game will create just about anything and everything.Comment

Did a little bit of catching up with the game, but it seems many are disappointed here. The Gamescon build that was being played was an earlier build, but contained a glitch of a chair floating in mid-air, and the animations looked stiff. In addition to that, we have tons of video captured at Gamescon, but 2K has yet to release their official gameplay footage.
They've done a lot of little things so far, and I think 2K has sunk their teeth into WWE to make it "their game." I just wonder if they didn't focus enough on the core gameplay for next-gen.Comment
