Damn, houtz. Why do YOU have such disdain for the 360? I could understand if you've had one before and just didn't like it or whatever, but have you ever owned one?
By the way, I know why I hate it. It just kept breaking over and over again.
:banghead:
i have the extra $$$ to buy a 360 but my roommate has one and plenty of my friends have complained enough for me not be waste the $$$ on it ... as long as ea (more specifically ncaa football) keeps making games for the ps3 there is no reason 'for me' to buy both
I think it's interesting that two of my closest friends have all but abandoned the 360 recently. My one friend hasn't turned his on in probably six months. Besides him thinking that it will probably break if he does he sees no reason to. He thinks the PS3 is a superior console.
My other buddy just got a PS3 about a month ago. He's had his 360 for I believe two years. He moved recently and finally got his internet hooked up the other day. He asked me "Does the PS3 have one of those wireless adapters like the 360 does?" I said "Yeah, it's already built in." He also asked me how much PS3 online cost and when I told him it was free he replied "Wow, just a few reasons why the PS3 is much better than the 360."
Couple those few things with him playing the first Resistance, Killzone 2 and falling in love with blu-rays and he told me yesterday "There's no reason for me to even buy any more 360 games...unless they are exclusive"
I think I was given the only 360 in the universe that doesn't have anything wrong with it. 2.5 years with this bad boy, not one single problem. *knocks on wood*

I have some friends on their 360s at least 2-3 hours a day every day and have never RROD'd. I've had two 360's since November 06 and never RROD'd.
Out of all my friends with 360's, only one has had RROD and that was like two years ago.
I guess we're all just lucky.
Personally, I love my 360. I want a PS3 but that's only for exclusives (God I need MGS4) and Blu-rays. 360 will always be my number one console. I just think it's better overall.
I guess so. I think only one of my friends' hasn't had any issues but he's had his console for only about a year.
Out of my four broken consoles two were RROD and the other two were different issues. My wife has gotten the RROD twice.
As I've said before the 360 is a great console, when it works. The problem is that it fails waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too often. I'm sorry but durability is a HUGE deal with any type of electronics, especially something I use nearly every day.
And damn I'm glad I don't have the problems I've heard about. My first 360 had a video card problem and that was it. I've never even seen the RROD, except for the one time I forgot to plug in my HDMI cable. I do know I'd be mega pissed if that sh*t happened to me though. Especially more than once.
I would think Twigg and Helicopter take good care of their stuff since they are adults but ive often wondered....
Are these people who have so many problems with their machines people who dont take care of their stuff? I know ive read a ton of stuff online about Rock band whammy bars and drum pedals breaking. I have an original run rock band set of instruments and have never had a problem with any of it( i take great care of my stuff). Everyone one of my teenage family members ive saw who have rockband or GH always have broken whammy bars, foot pedals, etc.
I know to some extent its faulty programming on MS' part because of the mass failures, but surely some people just dont take good enough care of their consoles and they cause some of it... Right?

Oh, I'm sure that definitely factors in. But I definitely take care of my stuff. I'd be glad to post pictures of my gaming area and where I keep my consoles and my games. I've been in some houses on calls at work and just look at the way some people completely disregard their own property and it baffles me.
As far as RB/GH peripherals I've never had a problem either. Scratch that. I did have a wireld Xplorer guitar break after by buddies wife handed it to me, apparently after rubbing her feet on the carpet during the winter time, and a static shock passed through it. The green button wouldn't register after that.
