Just got 2 more games in. All-madden with 5 Min quarters and lost both games.
Second game 2nd half I tweaked a couple sliders(Raiders @ Steelers Me). I wasn't seeing any cpu computer bad passes at all. It seems qb sliders are broken again, put mine and cpu down to 2 and wr catching to 45 and that seemed to show me more incomplete passes.
One thing that stood out, played three games and not one penalty on the cpu on default penalty sliders. Will have to tweak them once i have the actual game.
I also wonder if sliders have a different affect again in Connected Franchise than play now. I might have to buy another trial.
If they can figure out how to fix sim stats, crazy trades ,and free agency this game will be the best yet.Last edited by Cutler23; 08-23-2014, 01:37 AM.Comment

Why was the dev cycle shorter, I was under the impression that they put more time in with the whole no demo thing.Comment

The Madden team normally begins work on the following years game a couple of weeks after the game goes gold each July. Last year, they worked on PS4 and XBox One versions on top of PS3 and Xbox 360 and that took them into late September/early October before they could fully focus on Madden 15. That really condensed a lot of timelines internally and made for a lot of long days this cycle.Comment

There is a day one patch and then the 1st title update. I know that is in progress and wouldn't think it would be anywhere that long before it drops. A lot of things on CFM can be addressed server side by Looman with no patch required for the game.Comment

I'm confident they will get this fixed and the weird free agents and trades going on.
Really enjoying the gameplayComment

I haven't ran into anything that bothers me yet but many folks have unfortunately.
I'm really hoping we get some penalty work next year. That's a subject we talk about a lot at EA and we (GC's) have had many heard debates on. Biggest issue is how to do it without randomization and while also using the correct physics and animations so it doesn't come off predetermined

Physics side shouldn't really be an issue, how often it occurs should depend on the player's/team tendencies in real life. That's basically how everything else works, dropped passes are randomized but probabilities are based on ratings. Penalties should be no different. Please don't tell me you can still bump WR's off their route and have nothing called.Comment

I'm impressed with pretty much everything except commentary at this point. But it seems my biggest fear is being realized with the shortened cycle: bugs!

I get what your saying about penalties. It has to be hard or hard to find a way to determine when they are called. Honestly all that needs to be worked on is pass interference, I'm fine with the others. I just figured by the time we reached 2014 that we would see some sort of improvement in that area, they never look like they even been touched year after year. And the sliders for PI seem to have no affect on them what so ever. Some sliders are broken for sure an some work good, if they can get all the sliders to work properly I think this would take care of a lot of issues. Like they need to rewrite the code or something and its been so long that they have code on top of code and turns into a web of mess that no one knows what is what anymore. I don't know much about programming, but makes sense to me lol.Last edited by Cutler23; 08-23-2014, 01:20 PM.Comment

I ended buying the game and was ready to throw EA some props, but them not being able to figure out how to implement penalties makes it hard for me to respect what they're doing. That aside, as an avid 2k fan I will say that Madden is finally playable. There are still certain aspects that aren't as realistic as they should be, still things I like better in 2k8, but Madden is at least now a more challenging and thus more rewarding game than it's ever been in the past. Worth the $60 so far. Hopefully they continue on in this direction and don't dumb it down with bad patches.Comment

Yeah commentary could be better, more variety of lines. To be honest I can't stand Phil Simms and Nantz in real life so am always down on commentary already. Phil Simms really gives no insight than what your already seeing on the field. I wish Al Michaels would be in the game hes's the best play by play imo. People rant an rave about the shows commentary, but I thought it was nothing special and bland.

Yeah right now I would say they are dealing with code on top of code on top of code from multiple people

After playing this game a ton for the past week I'm starting to think the field looks like trash most of the time. I actually think it looks way worse than last yr. I get that they want to show wear down on the middle, but it looks like I'm playing on smudged pavement or something, looks bad. I also been noticing the players unis don't even look dirty until the 4th quarter. I'm not even seeing grass stains on white, are they playing on the moon or something? I was playing with the browns @ steelers and there jerseys looked brand new pearly white until the 4th. Game play seems fun,but everything else is the same ol buggy song.Comment

Using Azure's sliders, had some great games today. I can't wait until they fix the CPU QB sack issue.
Online, I got whacked 29-0 by Bigg today. He won fair and square, but I definitely want a rematch. I find in games like this I lose heart if I fall behind badly ... which I did. No excuses.
In some respects, I prefer my offline games vs CPU because I get to play any team I want and use custom rosters. In others, there's no doubt that a human opponent is both brighter and easier to exploit (3-0 in ranked games so far, go figure).
My biggest issue with Madden right now is how long it takes to play a 120-140 snap game. Just too friggin' long. I enjoy playing the game, but would like the devs to find a way for a correct snap game to last 40 minutes or less.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000
