this patch is a bunch of bull shit, i downloaded it and finally thought i could enjoy a game glitch free, well i was wrong i was in the top of the second and i noticed all this stuff wrong.

1. The outfielder glitch is STILL not fixed and they continue to stand there
2. The computer now barely swings at anything
3. The pitch meter is all fucked up i could get perfect accuracy for the pitch and it will end up being way outside or down in the dirt
4. It is now immpossible to pick off anybody, Vladimir Guerrero stole a base on me
5. Replays now freeze when being saved (I tried to save a replay and show how the outfielder glitch still happens)

hmmm, that is very weird. I only play online so I havent experienced the AI agressivness thing yet nor will I because single player is trash in 2k9 so I dont plan on playing it, but I have not encountered the OF glitch in my online games post patch. They did adjust the pitching so the gesture has to be 100% perfect for the pitch to be good. But it is very weird that you are experiencing the OF glitch.

I play online and the first game ended 2-0. First time a game has ended with less than 10 total runs for me.

So, is online better overall now? The Show shits on this game if you play offline, but the Show online is garbage and that is the main reason I havent bought either game yet. Online is what is most important to me.

the show online is pretty good. my games have all been generally lag free, except for a few hicups here and there. I had 1 game that was super laggy, but me and my opponent agreed to a friendly quit and just started a new game that was lag free.

IMO if you are more offline than online then get the Show, if you rarely play offline then get 2k9. I would say rent them both and then you make the decision. If you experience no lag in the show if you rent it then get the show.

Online play has been relatively fine for me with the Show. Take a look at the league I'm running on the site and you'll see that MLB the Show isn't so bad.

And your right about offline but online its just the same game with minor hiccups. Why not play the better game online with a pretty decent online play over the awful game with good online play? Just doesn't make sense why anyone with a PS3 would chose to get 2k9 instead of the show.

Offline play doesnt matter to me much. Its a nice change of pace for me, but does not make a sports game worth the purchase imo neither does "decent" online play. The games I have played have been ok at best, but they all have had some issues. There is no way that a baseball game can have these hiccups imo since timing is so important. I know about the league you are running, but you have to be honest its taken a good amount of dealing with issues for the league to survive. Im not interested in that. The gameplay of the Show is better without question, but Id rather deal with some gameplay hiccups if necessary to have full working leagues without stat fuck ups and smooth online play.

Im a big baseball guy, and I love baseball games and it pains me to think about not having one this season. It just seems that neither is worth my money. Its been long enough for SCEA to address online play, and they havent. Its the same shitty play from 3 years ago. Its just a question of if you can deal with it or not. If the game was $30, I might be interested in dealing with it, but if Im playing full price I want a working game both online and off.

I actually did rent them both and I couldnt stand 2k because of the first baseman stepping off and the ridiculous amount of HRs. Thats why I asked my question here, since I only played before the patch. I have The Show from gamefly (have had it since release) but I cant bring myself to pay for it and keep it because I dont care about offline play. Im about to give up on both games.
