CLW's proficiency at running this countdown should give him some partial ownership of the site or something, right? I've always heard how hard it was to run a successful countdown...

I think CLW is VSN's legal representative. When BigWill comes over to sue their asses over copyright infringement, CLW will have to negotiate a deal that is amicable to both sides. He'll be taking his PS3 on the road, as usual, while attending the meetings with the VSN and BigWill reps, so our online dyNASTY won't miss a beat.
