Can NBA Live 16 be a real competitor?

I am a 2k basketball guy, but I really want Live to kick ass and be a real competitor. Right now, even at $17, I can't see myself buying Live 15. I love 2k15 and see no reason to give Live a try for $17.
That's not a knock on Live, I just think 2k is a great basketball game and see no reason to spend more for a competitor.
My hope is that Live closes that gap."

My only real issue with 2k is that I want to play online with real player % and not the shot stick.
