The game is out TODAY and it doesn't seem like anyone around here gives a shit? What gives? I want to hear some impressions.

Official MLB The Show '15 release chatter
I preordered it 6 months ago but I have been on the fence ever since. The game was so bad last year that I really can't motivate myself to pull the trigger on this one.
Even if it's any good, this one will be another early sale game and i'm pretty sure it will be on a sale bin near you.

Don't know about that but online was unplayable and the pitching (which is the entire premise behind baseball) was horrible.
To be honest I came from Xbox and all I heard was how great "The Show" was. In reality compared to 2K they are identical in every way including available modes. The excepting was that 2K was playable online and the pitching system way far superior.

I caved and got it last night digitally. As always game looks beautiful and the animations are spot on as always. I only got to play the Giants vs Royals game with no commentary other then Matt telling you about all the new features while the game was still downloading the 35 GB data file. One thing I could tell early on is a difference in fielding the ball. No longer will every player take the same path to the ball. If you have a player with good fielding stats he will take a better path to the ball then someone who doesnt have good fielding numbers which was interesting. So far I like what I have seen but I cant give a full impression as I will dive more into it tonightComment

I'll pick it up sometime this week and we will be bringing back the HHL (see Al's teaser last week). The problem for me is that the game always looks incredible but the online play has been so so weak in past years that it cripples the ability to enjoy the game. If I can't play online against friends or other people in the league, I move on to other games pretty quickly. If online is fixed this year, I will be playing it a lotComment

Online play has been garbage in The Show & NBA2k for years. Funny, considering gameplay and presentation wise those are the two best sports games out there. Neither company has anymore excuses either seeing as they've had a chance to improve on online play for the past few years.
That being said, I don't play basketball or baseball games online that often so I get most of my enjoyment from offline games, which both The Show & 2k excel greatly on. I should have my copy by the time I get home from work tonight.

After playing MLB 14 yesterday with Spotify on, I decided to get the game. It's really the only game I would be willing to buy at full price, knowing it will be $48 @ Target a little over a month. I just walked in with the game, so I'll play it in a bit.Comment

Any changes to gameplay? Pitching still the same?

Just got 10th anniversary version, kickass case for it for sure. Game gets so much replay and is one of few that is as enjoyable against the CPU as online, not sure why online is such a sticking point when the game has been incredible offline.Comment

Because some people play online exclusively.

Excited to play this later today, I was a big fan of last year's besides the Playstation 1 loading times. Not expecting anything regarding online play, The Show/2K have never been able to get the online portion to play correctly so I will assume this year will be no different.
Any that has the game can you check if they re-added the classic stadiums from PS3? It was so FUN to play in the Polo Grounds and other old stadiums against your friends, I'd even occasionally play on them inside my Franchise mode.Comment
