On behalf of the entire MLB The Show development team we would like to take this time to first thank everyone for playing MLB 09 and being so patient with us as we work through some of the issues the community has experienced. We are very aware of these problems and we would like to announce that we are indeed working on a patch to fix the most glaring offline and online bugs and glitches you have encountered in this years game. When the patch is ready for deployment we will give an update with the contents of the patch. In meantime, we have found a work around for one of the most glaring bugs, the Road to the Show crash. If you skip all training sessions (batting and base running) during the month of September you should be fine. We know this is not ideal, however until the patch is ready for public release this will allow you to continue playing your RTTS save files (if the save file is before entering a training session). We take these issues and concerns very seriously and we do apologize for the inconvenience. Once again, thank you for your time and your patience. We will update the community as soon as the patch release date is set.
it basically occurs in Sept 2010 for most people, some are seeing it in future years as well. But there is a specific date in sept that the game wont allow you to advance past. I think its sept 14th or something
no matter what you do, when u try to advance past this date, the game will crash and you will be booted back to the ps3 dashboard
so to be safe, russell is saying to skip all training sessions in september. it also applies to pitchers that get batting practice sessions in september.
some people, have not seen it at all and are 5-10 years into RTTS.
Season I: 10-6 (NFC North Champions)
Season II: 9-7 (NFC North Champions)
Season III: 13-3 (NFC Champions)
Season IV: 11-5 (NFC North Champions)
Season V: 2-1
fyi - i did see a post at OS from russell from sony and he said they still have no info to release. The patch is being worked on but they cant say whats in it until it passes QA and they know everything is working in the patch. no timeline given either
well hitting is hitting regardless. you still gotta see the ball. Pitching on the other hand is a huge difference imo. With this game knowing how your pitchers pitches will break is very helpful in knowing where to locate the pitch.
for example, last night using pavano (and not being entirely familiar with him) i finally noticed how his fastball was sinking and realized that i should be aiming lower to give houtz the illusion that its in the K zone when in reality at the end it drops low out of the zone. Against the cpu this kind of crap doesn matter cause all they see is ball and strike. But against a human its all about making them see something they arent really seeing to throw off their timing
in game 1 with reyes pitching, i know his stuff and was able to keep houtz off balance and get a shut out. In game 2 i couldnt do that. But he did it to me. I got 2 runs but he had me all over the place
anyways, next time i use pavano online i am hoping for better results then 3 runs and like 10 hits using him
