I don't think so, personally. With the way it ended with that chick talking directly to Desmond, and the presentation of the vaults throughout the world, I have a feeling the story will stay in present day...especially now that he is officially an Assassin.

It would be stupid to put the full game into the past. Like Riley said, everything that the 2nd game showed, he's officially got the Assassin skills bled into him.

      As for the ending Riley...

They aren't aliens. They are the ones who created mankind in their own image. Mankind turned on them and war broke out. During the war, a cataclysmic event occured in around 70,000 B.C. Killed off nearly every living being. Then both the "Gods" and mankind worked together to rebuild. It's been foretold that another event will happen in 2012, and that is why they spoke to Desmond. He was told to be careful and that only he could help prevent it from happening again, but to watch out for the cross, as they would do anything to stop him.

It's believed that the "Gods" could have had children with their creations, and this would have led to the Assassin's guild. One glyph states, "The Assassin's, children of two worlds."

What the Templars connection to it all is what I don't get, and why the ending bothers me. They basically now have a giant storyline hole, in which I'm sure will be filled in the 3rd part, but it's left us guessing that the Templars are basically diversions and nothing more to the story since Desmond now has to prevent the Sun from destroying the planet again.

I'm glad you broke that down because I had no fucking clue what that ending was about.

I got a fucking damaged save file somehow... so pissed. I had just killed that one guy with Mario from the beginning so at least I wasn't almost at the end. Still though, pisses me off.

Rent. I don't recommend buying games that don't have an online portion or at least a long storyline like RPG's. It took me about 25 hours to beat, but I also went after a lot of the side stuff.

Not sure if anyone is interested but the first of two DLC's comes out Thursday. Its called the Battle of Forli and will sell for 320 marketplace points, or 4 dollars.

The other one comes out in February and is called Bonfire of the Vanities.

Well I just got this game and I must say I am impressed. I did not like the first game at all but AC2 is flat out addicting.

I'm exactly the same. I don't know what is but this game is just way better than AC1.
