I guarantee it's just as repetitive as AC1. They didn't get rid of the repetitiveness of the game, they just made more things to do, and from different people.

Wouldn't that be the only solution to fixing the repetitive nature? Add more new things to do?

You add more things to do, but in the end, you still have to do the same things.

Do you mean do the same things as in, you'll still have to do lookout points and the like? Or do you mean that say, they added 10 new things to do, but now you have to do 20 things per level prior to the assassination, where as for AC 1 you maybe had to do 10? I really haven't paid much attention to what this is, because I loved AC 1 despite the somewhat repetitive nature.

They basically changed up how you get your information. They also made it so that you have non-storyline missions. You'll still be doing the same shit over and over, you'll just have more choices to make.

Overall, I thought AC1 was solid just repetitive, if they fixed that up... it's no doubt a solid rental.

It's just not a game I'd really purchase.

According to the 1Up podcast (4 Guys, 1 Up) the game is everything the first one should've been. The one guy that has played it the most said he had been playing for ten hours and was just scratching the surface. He had only assassinated two targets and he wasn't bored at all. They all agreed that was saying a ton because they were bored with the first one after a few hours.

Apparently one of the coolest new features is that you unlock a town a bit of the way in, which acts as your hub. It's much cooler that the castle form the first game because there are shops that you can buy items at that you can't find anywhere else and you get discounts on stuff.

All the reviews have been great for this game so I'm definitely going to pick it up in a week or two when I acquire the necessary funds. Being a broke college student sucks.

Going to pick this up tomorrow at GS for $20. Today I went to Target and picked up 3 copies of Bigs 2 for $25. I traded in 2 to get the new Mario on Wii for $10. I was going to keep the last copy of Bigs but decided to trade it in (along with LBP) and pick up AC2 for $20. Not sure which version I am going to get. Do you get any benefits from having the original; ie. does the 2nd game know you played the first one?

Saw someone playing this at GS and it looked fun, esp. when they did their finishing moves. Don't know how long it would keep its appeal.
