Ya I am excited, I think this will def turn into a legit league/competition once the game drops. Only correction spyder is that Augusta isn't on the game so we can't really play the Masters on the same course. Maybe play a course that is similar or something, but we can't play Augusta sadly. Cody I think you are definitely thinking in the right direction with the leaderboards and stuff, this will be a season long competition and I think stat tracking with rankings and such would benefit the competition alot. We will get all this stuff hammered out within the next few months and we should have a nice set up when the game drops.
i thought it wasn't, which sucks. i don't know why EA hasn't attempted to put that course in the game....it would certainly generate more sales.

i'm totally in for TW10
Augusta seems like such a stuck-up place, they probably won't let EA on their course to take the pictures.
And codizzle that would be sick to get a couple articles up and such on the front page, I'll have to stay in touch with those guys about it. I guarantee if we have 15-20 golfers (which we pretty much already have) when this game drops and we get a few articles up, people will take notice. Gotta win that first Major at St. Andrews before the crowd gets large.
I will be interested in this. Just a matter of if I can get the game or not.
OT: I have been to St. Andrews. The golf course is beautiful. I have my picture with my brother standing on the bridge on the course.
Well hopefully with the way cbgolfer and myself are setting this up, you can just hop on the tour whenever you want. If you get the game in December, we can get you ready to go the next day and you're fine. Ultimately, we wanted to keep this as flexible as possible for everyone, so you can come and go whenever you please and it won't disrupt the league.. and hopefully if we get a strong enough group of members originally, this will be the case.
And that's sweet you went to St. Andrews. Break 100?
As a side-note: what's everyone's opinion on having certain restrictions to player ratings? I was thinking about this in school today and it might help keep the -50 scores out of the league. Maybe limit everyone to a maximum rating of a 90 (or whatever number we decide) for each attribute. This way the BEST player you can possibly have on the course has 90's in every category, as opposed to 110's.
i like and don't like the idea at the same time. It creates parity, but yet it takes away from your success. If your a good golfer, shouldn't you be awarded with gaining attribute points? Prospects in the MLB don't have to level out just because they're rookies.

i think it's an idea to be worked on.
Yeah, I'm reading some blogs though, and this may not even be necessary. It looks like they really worked on the poor/easy aspects of the game. Check out these two:
Precision putting. Basically it's a new putting system, which I love seeing. The old way used to make 90 foot putts basically tap-ins.
Club Distances. You can see that these are substantially tuned down, which is another great improvement. It'll be much more challenging to hit the green in 2 shots on a par 5 now, and apparently miss-hits are a lot less forgiving.
So with those two improvements, I think we won't have to worry too much about it. I just remember year's past where you could easily shoot a 55 with a stacked golfer, and I was trying to avoid that. But hopefully with these improvements, we won't see such a thing.
EDIT: That new putting thing looks SICK. I can't wait for this game now.
I didn't play golf at St. Andrews, was just standing on the course lol. You have to put your name and tee time in wayyyyyyyyyy in advance
I hear you there. I'm actually playing TPC Sawgrass in January 2010, we booked that December of 08 lol. My dad played at Torry Pines two weeks after the Open last year, he said all the bleachers were still up and it was pretty exciting even like that. I can't imagine playing in front of a huge gallery.
