I can see the comparisons but this game has a TON more replay value than FO does.

I beat FO and then really had no urge to play it again. Mostly because once you beat the game you were essentially forced to start over as opposed to use the character you leveled to beat the game.

Cheap knock off version? If you mean the graphics, it's cell shading. The gameplay looks a ton more hectic and fun. FO was a great game and the comparisons are understandable but the approach they took with this game is clearly different.

I agree there are a ton of great games on the way. That's why I'm glad I have a flashed box and won't have to worry about forking 60 bucks on a game that may potentially be placed on teh back burner when these other games get released.

I can't really see the Fallout comparisons...I mean, in watching videos and from hearing interviews with the developers, it's obvious this is a shooter first and foremost, with some RPG elements, mainly leveling up and loot drops. Fallout 3 had the FPS view but I don't know of anyone that actually played it like an FPS and didn't use the VATS thing or whatever it was called. Fallout 3 also had a much heavier emphasis on the RPG side than this looks to have. But, again, that's just my opinion.

I think it's only a max of 4 players, so we need one more to get it on 360...:drunk:

Mordecai is gonna be my main guy I think, but I'll play any of them, they all look pretty fun.

This is why I have gamefly. I dont have to commit to spending 60 bucks over and over. And deal with disappointment.

Not that I think I'll be disappointed with Borderlands, but I wont have to decide on just one or two games with the gaming season approaching.

I'll give the game a try tonight. It's available for download if you have a modded XBox.

the lame character customization is kind of a downer for me.

                          lmao

I decided I'm getting it on Tuesday as long as the reviews aren't terrible, I wish the RPG elements were a tad bit deeper though.

first review is OXM, gave it an 8.5/10

Borderlands is great but not for everyone. It's narrowly aimed at a certain type of player, and if you love fierce combat and the kind of group level grind that Blizzard's PC games specialize in, you'll feel right at home. [Dec 2009, p.66]

Good news for me because I've spent probably 15 years of my life playing Diablo, Diablo 2, and WoW. :D

I think this will be the most RPG-esque game I will get involved in. I tried Oblivion but hated it. Hopefully the fact that it's a FPS will keep me interested.
