I just beat this. Ran around with EDE and Raul.

The main story always sucks in this game. I didn't side with NCR or Legion because they're both lame. Also had to put an end to Mr. House and his Wizard of Oz bullshit.

I feel similarly about the story. It seems like the secondary quests always lead to more interesting shit because with Fallout, I'm more interested in the world and its history and not so much with the Wasteland itself.

Just beat it as a Pro-NCR sniper/gunner, not a bad final mission/last boss but it feels like they never really quite figure out how to end these games

Time for a second playthrough as a melee char

i havent had any quest glitches yet either, but there have been reports of them. on another note, playing the game as a melee character is an entirely different experience and makes the game quite a bit more challenging. I usually play as a sniper/gunner where if I do my job right, they never see me. Shit, on my first playthrough, I cleared out the whole Legion occupied town where the raft takes you to The Fort without being seen or heard before proceeding to take The Fort without being seen by anyone but the gate guards who quickly met their demise at the hands of a silenced .308 round. As a melee character, stealth is largely thrown out the window, you can use stealth to close the distance, but if the deaders are grouped together, no amount of stealth is gonna keep them from noticing you, really making me wish for more effective throwing knives/spears. You have to close the distance as fast as possible and slice and dice your way through the ensuing chaos, hopefully before they can draw a weapon. Setting up choke points and the use of traps/mines are also important, forcing you to actually think about how you're going to handle group encounters, definitely a nice change of pace from the way I normally play the game

Finally finished this the other day. Now I'm going to have to do hardcore mode and make some different alliances.

This game simply doesn't have the magic that Fallout 3 had.

I just picked this up the other day, im not reading this whole thread for risk of spoilers.

                          Quick question....

Anything i should know about saves, glitches, etc before i start playing?

Any glaring bugs that could ruin my gameplay experience if i dont do something in particular?

I remember people saying fallout 3 on ps3 had a bunch of issues and my gameplay experience was wonderfully devoid of any of it.

i think most of the issues have been patched. i played thru and didnt have any mission glitches like what was posted pre patch. dont rely on auto saves and make sure you save often as with any rpg and u will be fine.

the main issue when i played was the load times as you progressed thru the game and also when a new area would load your companions all of a sudden not being with you. But the companion thing was patched.

I so have to get back to this. Made it maybe halfway through before getting distracted by other games.

Just picked this up along with Fallout 3. Does it matter which order I play them in?
