Worst ending of any game? (Spoilers)

This thread is sure to be spoilerific, so fuck off if you care:

I plopped Fable 2 into the old 360 the other day so I could finish it and trade it in. The game was decent and the story was...meh.

So I get to the end, and you hold the B button and shoot the guy in the head. Then the game ends.

What. The. Fuck.

Horrible. One of the worst endings to a game, ever. Maybe worse than KOTOR 2...maybe.

What are some of the worst endings you've ever experienced?

I didn't give away any story bits, so I should be kosher.

My suggestion is to play all the way until the end, and then stop when you get to the boss. It makes the game 10x better.

Right now the first thing that comes to mind is Assassin's Creed

Also, not really the worst ending per say, but the end of Half Life 2 Episode 2 reeeally made me want to kill valve the fucking assholes

All time? hmmm I'd say.. . Assassins Creed. They leave you wanting more and asking yourself... WTF!?

But lately, i'd say Resident Evil 5. The whole Lava/Rocket ending to Wesker is lame as shit.

Almost every next-gen game I've finished except Mass Effect. They are trying too hard not to have huge boss battle endings because they are overdone and most of the time they just fail at trying to be different.

So I win the Finals in my Heat chise on here. I expect players to be jumping around going crazy. They show a 7 second trophy thing and then it's over. Gay.

There were SO many NES games that I slogged through in my youth only to be kicked in the nuts with an atrocious"THE END" kind of ending. However, since we can't really hold that against them, since games started trying to have satisfying endings, I'll pick Too Human.

Fucking lame. In general, I don't like the wide open endings. It's an example of shitty writing. You can leave room for a sequel while at the same time end a section of the overall story in a satisfying way (just see Mass Effect). Too Human basically said, "fuck you, you have to buy the next one if you want to know anything".
