Call of Duty 7: Vietnam?

Modern Warfare 2 is still six months away, but that doesn't stop Treyarch from working on the seventh Call of Duty, which, if That VideoGame Blog is to be believed, is set in Vietnam:


A source we consider reliable has told TVGB that Activision is looking to licence music for “Call of Duty 7,” music that gives some serious hints as to the locations the game may take us. Mentioned were Vietnam War era tunes, as well as Cuban, African, and Soviet Union music. The source says Call of Duty: World at War’s senior producer Noah Heller is involved, so it looks like Treyarch is once again developing.

Credibility to the change from WWII is added by Heller himself who last year said they “are showing the final battles of the Pacific and the European Theatre and that lets us put a close to the war. I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.”

COD4 and CODW@W were pretty similar to me, the only guys ive saw that say COD 4 is so amazing are the ones that are still playing after 2 years.

I think Vietnam is a great idea. Several other companies have tried Vietnam before but apparently the games were horrible. I actually saw this news a few weeks ago but I couldn't find any decent pages to link to so I left it alone.

I'm with you Herm. I don't see all the hate towards Treyarch. They have put out quality games in the series. Not only was WaW a great game but it was ultra violent, which is something those pussies at IW have always seemed to shy away from. IT'S FUCKING WAR!

Anyone that says "Treyarch suxorz!" has either never played CoD3 or WaW or they are just ridiculous IW fanboys.

I'm also with you Herm on not understanding how people could still be on CoD4's nuts. I mean, my wife is playing the game right now and I just don't get it. It's a great game, don't get me wrong. But it seems to me at this point playing that game still would be similar to working on an assembly line at this point. Same shit, different day.

I spent so much time on CoD4, playing it like crazy for months on end.

CoD:W@W, I played for maybe a week and the game was just too boring to get into. I tried, but it didn't happen.

People don't hate on the game just to hate on it. The transition from 4 to 5 was so damn horrible, it was like going back in time... oh wait, we did go back in time. Fuck Treyarch and their crappy developers.

You could say the same with W@W, it's the same game as 4 but not as good and entertaining. Not to mention 3 and 5 had more glitches than COD4. You don't need to dedicate an entire year to making a game(COD4), with a WW2 skin on it. On a PC all it would take is right click, save as, install patch, and you are playing W@W on the 4 engine. 5 is a complete joke and the vehicles put the nail in the coffin on it for me.

Really? Not that I have loads of experience online with any of the games but CoD4 is almsot two years old and I still here my wife constatnlty calling out to her teammates about opponents who are uising glitches.

If these glitches are so well known how the fuck have they not been fixed yet and why do people still play the game like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread?
