Running game - that's why we traded for Johnson, hopefully he won't be a wuss next season. Btw, draft time hopefully tonight - I have to create a bunch of rookies still though.
Hoping to get draft in tonight. After seeing the new Madden 10 screenshot, wow. I'm impressed - might actually buy that game this year. But, I'm keeping this Houstons chise going as far as I can in case Madden goes down the drain.
As for the created rookies, I've created all QB, HB, FB, WR, TE, G - left to do: T, DT, LB, CB, SS, FS, K and P.
The worst part is the offensive lineman, mainly because they do not interest me as much as the other positions. However, I'm almost done with them - so should get things done tonight. Btw, for those that don't know, the rookies in this draft class are from my NCAA 09 Ole Miss (retired) report - so some guys who are there IRL probably won't be in this one. I'll make sure to post the entire list for shits and giggles later though.
Btw, as far as CAPs are concerned - don't think it'll happen. I thought about it, but NFL2k5 doesn't have a way for me to see simulated game stats. Unless I'm missing something. The alternative would be to play each individual's game and 'simulate to the end' and post stats there.
Would love to hear input (possibility of CAPS is only for VSN members).
You're right Rylo - CAPS is effort. I think what I will do is wait till season 3 and see how it goes from there. I love playing this game, so knowing me, I won't like to report on CAPS every week.
Offensive Tackle, Ephraim Salaam (76 Ovr), has decided to hang up his helmet on his 12-year career. The Houston Texans do not plan on convincing him out of retirement. Gary Kubiak on Salaam: "Just an incredible man, his dedication to every team he has played for has been truly remarkable. His services will be missed and I'm sure he will stay connected to the game in any way possible."
Rick Smith on Salaam: "Ephraim has always been that guiding light, he has always gone into every endeavor with a positive attitude and it truly has been reflected on the teammates he is leaving behind."
Defensive Tackle, Jeff Zgonina (72 Ovr), has decided to hang up his helmet on his 12-year career. The Houston Texans do not plan on convincing him out of retirement. Gary Kubiak on Zgonina: "Jeff, despite not playing much this year, has helped the team with his consistency on the practice field. I don't think I've ever heard him complain."
*Yes, there are some strange ones there. I'm seeking answers on why, Cory Mays for example, is retiring after only 4 years of pro football. As I've researched, it seems common within the game. I think it's a pretty cool element, I'm just happy I don't have to deal with that for my Texans. As much I disliked Slaton this year, I wouldn't want to see him hanging it up just yet.
Wow, alot of Young guys retired, probably due to career injuries. That sucks lol. Looking forward for the rest Matt.
Dude I know. This is looking to be an issue, but maybe not. It's interesting and there could definitely be some creativity to input. Makes me remember how deep this game really is - it's a dream for franchise gurus.
Rick Smith, General Manager of the Houston Texans, has made a brief announcement about the current state of the head coach position, currently occupied by Gary Kubiak. Rick Smith: "I will put to rest the rumors now. Gary is not going anywhere, I do not know how the rumors began, nor do I care. People have had their say on whether or not he deserved this job - but if you had a season full of injuries like Gary did, you would understand where I'm coming from.I will announce though, that Gary's contract will be up for consideration in two years time. Till then, he is the only Head coach of this team."
Gary Kubiak: "First off, I'd like to thank Rick for still believing in me and what I'm here to do in Houston. I know we had a season last year to forget, but I am excited to begin this 2009 season in a couple of months. We have had some retirements that will not affect the team too badly, so I am looking forward to the upcoming re-signings and free agency. Now let's get to work."
