Injured running back, Chris Johnson, remains sidelined for today's game against the Titans. Johnson broke his left forearm back in week 2 against the Bears.

Gary Kubiak on Johnson: "CJ is about two weeks away from being fully recovered. We anticipate his return, but he has to remember that this is a job - and he will have to work hard when he gets back."

Matt Schaub on Johnson: "It would be great for our team to have a weapon like CJ. Since the two years ago, we haven't really seen what he's fully capable of. I just hope management doesn't use his injuries against him and trade-bait."

Good news has come about for the Houston Texans in Oakland, RB Chris Johnson has fully recovered, and so as QB Sam Bradford.

Gary Kubiak on Johnson and Bradford: "These are two big time players that we need today - we are ready to heal as a team."

Patrick Turner on Johnson: "We have been needing a run game since he went down - this will help us on all facets - let's go baby!"

              TEXANS 0, RAIDERS 28
              Bradford, 17/36, 209 yds, 3 INT
McFadden, 9 rush, 76 yds, 2 TD (1 rec TD)

Oakland, CA -- It was the case of not being able to handle the run, which in turn became not being able to throw the ball down the field the way they liked.

Sam Bradford (bottom right) struggled the entire game, throwing 3 picks, netting the rookie his worst rating of the season, a 30.9 QBR.

The man who can be thanked for the low rating for the rook, would be veteran Nnamdi Asomugha (top). The Raiders cornerback finished his game with 2 picks, frustrating the slinger from Oklahoma.

For the Texans, it was supposed to be Chris Johnson's mighty return - which is probably why there was a sense of brimming confidence through the Texans locker room pregame.

"We felt good before all this," says receiver Andre Johnson, "The goal was to re-establish a run game, then at the same time bring that down field threat."

The Raiders were 7-1 for a reason, and Johnson was kept under 100-yards, and no score to show for it.

On the other side of the ball, the run game for Oakland was remarkable - the dual threat of Kalil Bell and Darren McFadden proved to be difficult for Gary Kubiak's defensive mindset.

"They blocked into the holes real well (of his defense). But it doesn't matter how long we can block up a hole when we get a chance to grab the runner - and he just shrugs the tackles."

Bell shrugged off 9 tackles, while McFadden broke 2, but scored two touchdowns instead.

Of course Jamarcus Russell isn't the reason the Raiders are 7-1, the quarterback threw 23 times, completing 9 of them to receiers that either were short of the first down, or thrown on the dump off, except once throwing to Darren McFadden (bottom left) for a touchdown.

"They kept us in the game," states Kubiak, "With lackluster passing like that - we were still in this one. It's just unfortunate we couldn't take advantage."

In the end, it was not a game to be remembered for Kubiak and the Texans. Chris Johnson's return was fogged over by the Raiders resilient defense, and the 1-2 punch of Mcfadden and Bell.

It doesn't get easier next week when the now 2-6 Texans travel to Florida to face up against the 7-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.

Texans wide receiver, Patrick Turner, has been placed on the Injured Reserve (IR) list by Texans medical staff. Turner suffered a torn ACL that will leave him out for approx. 28 weeks.

Gary Kubiak on Turner: "We have lost a great receiver in a season where we need him the most. There's nothing he, or we, can do now to improve the matter - except to get rest and rehab."

Turner on his status: "I have never felt so useless as a player up until now - I had never gotten injured in college, and yet this is my worst injury to date. I just hope I can make a speedy recovery to show what I'm worth for next year."

                        Texans continue losing streak
Colts make it 8 in a row for Houston

                        by James Casselle

Hard to say what the fans want now. Do they want a victory? Or just want the team to lose the remaining games so the Texans can pick up the number one draft pick in the offseason? After a pathetic showing against the Colts today, I think the latter will happen if Kubiak and his men try to win another game.

Chris Johnson has reportedly said he has "had it" this year - and being the primadona he is, will probably bail on us - which is understandable at this point. The well traveled running back racked up only 55 yards against the Colts today - which saw over 700 yards of total offense for the visitors.

"I'm tired mang," states Johnson, "Y'all can't be serious bout these Texans anymo - they shinin for last place, mang."

Even though the worst is happening, the head coach for the Texans Gary Kubiak is still positive:

"Never in my life have I said this will be an easy road. And it's continued to be challenging - but we welcome it as a team. If anyone feels they want to jump ship with 5 games remaining - so be it. We can still make a decent record out of this, 7-9 is not impossible."

Next week, the Texans take their current 2-9 record to Buffalo to face the 6-5 Bills, who are led by the sure arm of Trent Edwards and the defensive grinder in linebacker, Paul Posluszny.

                        Remaining Schedule:

                        @ Buffalo (6-5)
                        Jacksonville (9-2)
                        @ Minnesota (7-4)
                        @ Tennessee (4-7)
                        Cincinnati (6-5)

Bills comeback keeps Texans losing streak alive
                          Good showing, but no cigar

                          by James Casselle

First off, Chris Johnson could be injured again - imagine that. Secondly, despite the loss this was a more complete game - just tough conditions, and a little bit of a brain fart here and there.

I was definitely impressed with Bradford yet again, he showed poise and calmness in the pocket - made some plays out of nothing.

The running game for the Texans was ridiculously terrible yet again. It's funny because the offensive line is one that has 80+ throughout the line - just doesn't make sense why Kubiak can't get it together to allow some decent yardages - I honestly say, bring Ahman Green back!

The nice guys in Buffalo allowed us to grab their highlight video from the game - so enjoy the music from Biffy Clyro, and a couple of scenes from the loss. Next week: Jacksonville!

Running back, Chris Johnson, has been placed on the Injured Reserve due to an injury suffered in the previous game, officially the doctors are diagnosing his injury as "strained elbow ligaments", and out for 10 weeks.

Gary Kubiak on Johnson: "Imagine that."

Sam Bradford on Johnson: "Unfortuante, but something tells me if we were headed into the playoffs, he'd only be out for 1 quarter."

Corner back, Antonio Cromartie, will also be placed on Injured Reserve due to migraines, and will miss 5 total weeks.

Gary Kubiak on Cromartie: "He's a fighter, but I'm sure this is more prevention than anything - we need him in the offseason to regroup the confidence of our players."

CC Brown on Cromartie: "We are going to miss him for the remainder of the four games, but I think Coach's decision is the right one at this point."

Shit, how many seasons in are you? I remember this franchise from way back.

EDIT: Just read up on this a little bit. I'll have to catch up. I'm also gonna get back on 2K5.
