Finding the positives
Despite finishing below 500 and not making the playoffs last season the Indiana Pacers have alot to be positive about . They have the most improved player in the league in Danny Granger aswell as another candidate for the same award , Mike Dunleavy. Dunleavy and Granger`s acheivements didnt stop there however , they were also the first Pacer pair since Reggie Miller and Detlef Schrempf to score 1500 points in a single season. The Pacers also traded away former fan favourite Jermaine O'Neal to the Toronto Raptors for TJ Ford and the rights to Roy Hibbert (aswell as Nesterovic and Baston) . Hibbert impressed all Pacer fans right away with his rebounding and blocking ability . On the same day the Pacers acquired Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, and the rights to Brandon Rush from the Portland Trail Blazers in return for Ike Diogu and the rights to Jerryd Bayless.
The season
The start of the Pacers season was plagued by Injuries and off the court issues . Jamaal Tinsley , Marquis Daniels, and Shawne Williams were all involved in a legal case . The Pacers luck then got worse when star player Jemaine O`Neal got hurt followed by an injury to Tinsley himself . The Pacers were forced to start Travis Deiner for most of the season at Point Guard .... however this did not stop the team from making a run at the end of the season towards the playoffs , in what could only be described as a "hectic" finish the Pacers , Hawks and Pistons were all involved in a dog fight for the remaining Eastern Confrence Playoff spots
The Pacers lost out to both teams finishing 36-46 .
