Wallace Expected To Return For Game Against Nets



After missing the past 3 games with back spasms, Indiana Pacers forward Rasheed Wallace is getting the green light for the Pacers upcoming game at the Izod Center against the New Jersey Nets.

"This is a pretty common injury." Wallace said. "I'm all better now. Let's get this show on the road."

The Pacers will look to earn their 4th straight win against Vince Carter and the 15-33 Nets.

This will be the first game in over a month that the Pacers will have all starters suited up and ready to go as a sudden string of injuries had kept Danny Granger, Brandon Rush, and Wallace out for periods of time throughout January.

Injuries:


Paul Pierce, who suffered an injury in the 1st round of last season's playoffs which led to the Celtics elimination, is now injured again. This time with a lower back strain. The Celtics are expecting him to be out 20 days. Considering the Celtics only recently snapped a 6 game skid with a win over the Raptors, this isn't exactly the most opportune time to get injured. Not to mention, this injury will prevent Paul Pierce from attending the all-star weekend festivities this month.


Eddy Curry of the New York Knicks will be out for 30 days with a broken toe.

Coaches Recognize Granger And Kaman As All Stars Once Again



For the second year in a row, Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger and center Chris Kaman were selected as reserves for the 2010 All-Star game in Dallas to be held in less than 2 weeks.

Granger and Kaman realize and appreciate being selected by the coaches because it shows how much they value their abilities.

Granger is amongst the league's best in scoring at 25.6 points a game while Kaman is in the top 5 in both rebounds and blocks per game.

“Obviously, I’m very happy for both Danny and Chris,” said Pacers President of Basketball Larry Bird. “They have both worked hard to achieve their goals. Through their hard work and dedication, they have both become some of the top players in the league."

“I think this is absolutely great for some young men who have really dedicated themselves 12 months a year to becoming better and better,” said Pacers Coach Jim O’Brien. “I think it’s wonderful for the franchise to have two All-Star's and we’re all very, very proud of them being named to the All-Star team.”
