Back To Back Player Of The Week Awards For Hollywood

For the first time in his 5 year career, Danny Granger has been awarded the NBA's Eastern Conference player of the week award on back to back occasions.

It's hard to believe that Granger is actually playing better than he did in his breakout season a year ago. Despite his team sitting at a sub-par 9-9 after coming into this season with very high expectations, Granger is starting to draw major comparisons to another dynamic Eastern Conference forward, Lebron James.

"Danny is doing it all out there right now. Rebounding, playing tough defense, getting guys the ball in a position to score. He's definitely on his way to his second all-star selection," Pacers Head Coach Jim O' Brien said.

"Lebron has some serious competition now for these awards," joked Pacers GM Larry Bird. "It became almost routine how often he was able to win them last season but Danny has elevated his game and once we work out the kinks. he will elevate this team as well, right back into the playoffs."

Hansbrough is God. Do not mess with him, Mike. You trade him, you will lose and not make the playoffs. lol. Seriously though. Hansbrough is the shit if you know how to use him.

He's a decent scorer and rebounder. His defense is atrocious. I can't keep letting opposing power forwards school me all day. And if I bench him, his morale will plummet because of rating. It must be done.

Pacers Finally Pull Trigger On Trade; Hansbrough Shipped Out

Indiana seemed to be the ones to delay any sort of trade despite numerous reports of the organization being in trade talks with numerous teams, including but not limited to the Raptors, Bulls, Knicks and Pistons.

However, when the Pacers traveled to Milwaukee and they watched Charlie Villanueva drop 31 points and pull down 16 boards as rookie Tyler Hansbrough appeared to be spectacting out there, Pacers GM Larry Bird sprung into action.

"Tyler is a good player and will develop into a solid player in years to come but after making it all the way to the Conference Finals a season ago, we really don't have the time to sit here and wait for his defensive capabilities to come around," explained Bird.

So, the Pacers possibly compromised their future by swinging a deal with the Pistons sending away Hansbrough and backup guard Marquis Daniels in exchange for Rasheed Wallace and benchwarmers Walter Sharpe and Deandre Jordan. Wallace had reportedly asked out of Detroit after a dismal 4-12 start this season.

Wallace brings an impressive resume to Indiana as far as playoff experience goes, making numerious trips to the Eastern Conference Finals with Detroit over the past 5 years or so, including being a core member of the Pistons team that won an NBA title in 2004.

The Pacers are hoping Sheed's energy and intensity can help them break away from the pack heading deeper into the season.

Wallace has averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game in his 15 year career in the NBA.

                Trade Breakdown:

                Pacers Send:

                PF Tyler Hansbrough
                SG Marquis Daniels

                Pistons Send:

                PF/C Rasheed Wallace
                SF/PF Walter Sharpe
                C Deandre Jordan

Alright trade. DeAndre's got the potential to be better then Hansbrough.

                            Player Of The Game:

                            Rasheed Wallace

                            Quote Of The Game:
"Obviously it's very early to tell but Rasheed shined in his first game with us. That energy and intensity we were lacking before, we weren't lacking it tonight. It's been a while since we held a team under 100 points and I'll be honest, it felt good beating a team with defense for once as opposed to just trying to outscore them." - Danny Granger
