      Eagles Set to Play Buccaneers

      Eagles Set to Play Buccaneers

Byron Leftwich has impressed so far for Tampa Bay.

The 2-1 Philadelphia Eagles will be returning from their bye week to face off against the 1-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Buccaneers quarterback Byron Leftwich has looked good so far this year, and he is coming off of a game in which he led his Bucs past the more talented Washington Redskins.

If the Eagles stick to their game plan and contain Leftwich this game shouldn't be much of a challenge for Philadelphia.

              Brady, Romo Go Down

Two of the NFL's elite quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Tony Romo, both suffered injuries this weekend.

Brady has been diagnosed with a dislocated hip, and he will miss an estimated eight weeks. Romo was diagnosed with a broken collarbone, and he will be forced to sit out an estimated seven weeks.

The Patriots are currently atop the AFC East with a 4-1 record, while the Cowboys are last in the NFC East with a 2-3 record.

Eagles Will Look to Extend Win Streak to Four in Oakland

Eagles Will Look to Extend Win Streak to Four in Oakland

JaMarcus Russell played very well last week against Washington.

After three straight home games, the Philadelphia Eagles, who are 3-1, will be traveling to the opposite side of the country to square off against the inexperienced Oakland Raiders, who are standing at 3-2.

Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell is coming off of the best game of his career, in which he threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns, earning him player of the week honors. If Russell can keep his composure while being constantly blitzed by the Eagles' defense, the Raiders have a chance of hanging with Philadelphia.

Oakland's running back Darren McFadden will need a big game as well to take pressure off of Russell behind center. If the Raiders can balance the production of both Russell and McFadden we could have a good game ahead of us.

                          Eagles Survive Late Collapse

                          (3-1) - 20 @ 17 - (3-2)

                          Recap:

The 3-2 Oakland Raiders, coming off of a victory at the hands of the Washington Redskins, hosted the 3-1 Philadelphia Eagles. Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell was coming off a career game, but the Eagles' defense limited him to just 122 passing yards. The Raiders did have a successful running game with Darren McFadden running for 121 yards, but it was outmatched by the Eagles run attack, which had both Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy putting up huge numbers. The Eagles controlled the game until the fourth quarter when quarterback Donovan McNabb, who had played quite well, was shaken up and was forced to sit out for the rest of the game. Backup quarterback Kevin Kolb was put in and Kolb threw two key interceptions. The Raiders looked ready to make a winning drive until safety Quintin Demps forced Darren McFadden to fumble, sealing the victory for Philadelphia.
