Dorell Wright to replace Udonis Haslem in starting lineup; Signs Contract Extension
Due to great play nearly half way through the season, Dorell Wright will be starting for the Miami Heat. To go along with that starting spot comes a new contract.
Dorell Wright will be starting at Small Forward for the Miami Heat. The 24 year old first round draft pick in 2004 has shown the Miami Heat he still has untapped potential and is playing how he should of been playing if it not for the injuries. He was averaging nearly 8 points a game along with 2 rebounds and an assist in just under 12 minutes a game. Those number should improve greatly, with Dorell expecting to be getting 30 minutes a game starting. His athletic body that can slash to the rim and grab rebounds to go along with his improving jump shot are two major reasons he's in the starting lineup opposed to Udonis.
Dorell Wright also added 3 more guaranteed years onto his contract with the Miami Heat. He signed a 3 year deal with a team option for the 4th year worth around 4.68 million dollars. This is a great deal for the Heat, and Dorell. With Dorell locked up, the Heat's other two concerns of resigning are Dwyane Wade and Jermaine O'Neal.
Hopefully this new role and new contract will motivate Dorell Wright to play great against the Oklahoma City Thunder.Last edited by LC AAU; 10-25-2009, 05:32 PM.sig is too big, resize itComment
