National Championship Preview
#2(12-1) vs (12-0)#1
This is going to be Ralph Bolden's final game in Black and Gold.
Going into this game, you could obviously say that Miami is the better overall team on paper. But being better on paper doesn't win games on the football field.
But don't get me wrong, Miami has some very special players that will be playing on Sundays here soon. Senior Quarterback Jacory Harris may be the first one playing on Sundays. The 6'4, 177 QB has thrown for 79 TD's in 3 seasons for Miami. He has very good speed and great accuracy. He has stud receivers to throw it to as well. Despite his favorite target Travis Benjamin being ruled out because of an injury, he still has Thearon Collier, Laron Byrd, and Tommy Streeter to throw it to. They have incredible depth at Wide Receiver.
But the X Factors for Miami will be Sophomore All American running back Mike James. He posted 1,147 yards this season and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, and this kid has some wheels. Purdue's defense has one thing they are lacking, and that is speed. If he can find a corner, he's gone.
If Miami wants to win, David Graham is going to need to be stopped.
Miami's Defense is going to have a tough time trying shut down Purdue's offensive weapons.
Junior Quarterback Caleb TerBush will need to make as little mistakes as possible. Though he is a great QB, he mikes silly decisions that sometimes makes him seem less elite as a QB.
Ralph Bolden, who has battled so much at Purdue his 4 seasons here, wants to close out the season on a high note. He scored 12 touchdowns while rushing for 1,386 yards this season despite missing 3 games. He just wants to finish this game holding up the National Championship trophy.
"I'm not gonna lie, when I came to Purdue when I was a freshmen, I had no thought in my mind that we'd make it to the BCS bowl game, let alone a National Championship game."
He was sure wrong. The Boilers made it to the Rose Bowl in the 2009 season. If you would like to go back and view that game, you can here.

The Boilers also made it to the Sugar Bowl last year. It wasn't exactly the same result. The Caleb TerBush threw 6 interceptions and Purdue lost big. If you would also like to look at that game, you can from here.
