Ingram To Be Sidelined With Broken Collarbone

Bills linebacker Clint Ingram suffed a broken collarbone after colliding with Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck on a play that resulted in a Donte Whitner interception in the 1st half of the Bills 34-27 win on Monday night.

Head Coach Lovie Smith said Ingram, a 2010 free agency acquisition by the Bills, would be out indefinitely.

"We don't know how long it's going to be," Smith said. "But it's going to be for an extended period of time."

A broken collarbone typically requires 6-8 weeks to fully heal. Meaning the earliest we could see Ingram return would be in the Divisional or Conference round of the playoffs, assuming the Bills make it that far of course.

WIth the injury, the Bills are likely to slide Keith Brooking to LOLB and put Kawika Mitchell back in at ROLB to start.

Ingram has 41 tackles, 8 for a loss, 3 sacks, 1 interception for a touchdown, 1 forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 12 games for the Bills this season.

Ingram had played 16 games in all of his past 4 seasons and appeared to be in a position to do the same before this injury.

      Week 14 Preview
Sunday, December 9, 1:00 PM @ Gilette Stadium

      (9-3) @ (5-7)

As we all know, Tom Brady's career is over after suffering a fractured vertebrae in week 1. The Patriots are set to miss the postseason for the 2nd straight year while the Bills appear to be on their way to clinching a playoff berth for the 4th straight year and an AFC East title for a 2nd consecutive year.

The Bills roughed up the Pats 39-24 in week 2 and we'd expect them to do the same in this week 14 matchup in Foxboro.

However, with heavy rain and cold temperatures in the forecast for this game, anything could happen. The Bills play in poor weather conditions over the past couple of years, whether in rain or snow, hasn't exactly been dominating.

Patriots Key Additions: HB Ladainian Tomlinson (94), HB Thomas Jones (85)

Injuries Piling Up At The Worst Time For Buffalo

After losing linebacker Clint Ingram to a broken collarbone just a week ago, the Bills are now faced with an injury to their starting quarterback Trent Edwards.

Post-game tests revealed that Edwards had dislocated his hip in the 3rd quarter of the BIlls 38-8 win over the Patriots this Sunday.

The injury is expected to require 6 weeks to heal which puts Edwards on the same timetable as Ingram as far as returning to action goes.

"Injuries are tough," explained Bills head coach Lovie Smith. "But that's football. Every team has to deal with injuries. It's not exactly the best time for injuries to start piling up on us with the postseason right around the corner. Now is the time for guys to step up."

Backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, who went 4-9 after Edwards' departure with a touchdown pass, will likely be starting for the Bills in their upcoming game against the lowly 3-10 Seahawks next Sunday.

                      Week 15 Preview
Sunday, December 16, 4:15 PM @ Qwest Field

                      (10-3) @ (3-10)

2 seasons ago, the Seahawks put together an impressive run that got them all the way to the NFC Conference Finals.

However, that following offseason, Matt Hasselbeck bolted town for Tennessee and since then, times in Seattle have been tough.

The biggest story surrounding Buffalo coming into this week 15 matchup is Aaron Maybin's pursuit of the NFL single season sack record.

Rookie RT Adrian Grant will be matched up against Maybin and responsible for keeping Michael Strahan's record safe.

With Trent Edwards out nursing a dislocated hip, all eyes are on Tarvaris Jackson to lead this Bills team to victory.

Seahawks Key Additions: RT Adrian Grant R* (82), MLB Jasper Brinkley (76), HB Cedric Peerman (76), CB Fabian Washington (76), WR Devin Thomas (76)

History On The Horizon For Maybin

"I have 3 more games to do something that has never been done before," Aaron Maybin told reporters in a pre-game interview.

Through 13 games, Maybin leads the league with 22 sacks, just half a sack shy of passing Michael Strahan's record set back in 2001. Yet Maybin being within reach of the record with 3 games remaining is even more impressive considering that he is much, much more than just a pass rusher.

Compared to the top ten players leading the league in sacks, Maybin is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to total and solo tackles.

What makes him stand out above the rest is that he is so dominant against the run as well. His ability to hold his edge and read a run play, as well as his speed and ability to run down a play from the backside, has made him into one of the most complete defensive players in the NFL. And here he sits, well within reach of a coveted NFL record with 3 games to go.

With an NFL record in sacks for the year, Maybin should be a sure thing for DPOY honors, if not in the running for MVP.
