Wolves Recent Surge Has Minny Thinking Playoffs
Since making the decision to shake up the Wolves starting lineup by going away from the smaller Jonny Flynn/Ramon Sessions backcourt and instead starting Wayne Ellington at the 2, Kurt Rambis' Wolves have won 8 of their past 11 games.
Now 40 games into the 2009-10 NBA season, the Wolves 20-20 record has the Minnesota faithful thinking playoffs.
"This win just moved us up to the 8th spot in the Western Conference," explained Rambis in a post-game interview after the Wolves 20 point beatdown of the Rockets in Houston.
"A lot of the old powerhouses in the Western Conference have started off slow. Phoenix, Dallas. The Rockets are struggling. The Clippers aren't playing as well as they might have hoped. If these guys manage to keep it up, I have no doubt in my mind that we can be playing ball in late April."
Two years ago, the Golden State Warriors won 48 games. 48 games, but were still lottery-bound.
Needless to say, the Western Conference is hardly as tough as it was or as it was predicted to be before the start of the season. Which could translate into the perfect opportunity for the Wolves to return to the postseason for the first time in 6 years.
When asked about whether or not he intends to make any moves at the trade deadline which is less than a month away, Wolves GM David Kahn said, "We have been in touch with a number of teams around the league. Whether anything will come of the talks or not remains to be seen. We will continue to weigh our options and see how things play out as the deadline draws closer."

Although he did get it done the hard way in the game he went 1-8 from 3.
He is plagued by inconsistency though. If I said I wasn't looking for ways to improve my starting shooting guard spot, I'd be lying.
Melo is definitely hard to contain. J.R. and Chauncey usually produce well also. But down low, Al and Love have dominated K Mart and Nene this year. Which is a big reason for my success against them. Although two of our wins against them have been determined by less than 3 points. lol.Comment

I would LOVE to see you get this team into the playoffs, 7th or 8th seed perhaps....You've been playing well lately and you should only get better in the second half of the season
Off topic: This fucking game has made it hard for me to give Madden any burn...and I actually like the game this year but NBA 2K10 :rockwoot:Comment

If you make playoffs, Clippers get your pick
1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)
The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"Comment

Yes, I'm going to go out and give out my draft pick to the Clippers and make sure I get all the picks owed to Minnesota as well.
You posted this earlier in this thread and I ignored it. You now posted it again. I'm now telling you to shut the fuck up. I don't care.Comment

Lulzie, someone's just mad the Wolves made a horrible trade to the Clippers trading Cassell and a 1st for Marko Jaric

I'm just not going to go and assign and trade picks all over the league. Especially when so many of those owed picks are conditional and depend on how many games a particular team wins, etc. I don't care.Comment

Grizzlies Coming Out Of Hibernation? Get On The Board Against The Wolves
Starting Lineups:
Jonny Flynn PG Allen Iverson
Wayne Ellington SG O.J. Mayo
Corey Brewer SF Rudy Gay
Kevin Love PF Zach Randolph
Al Jefferson C Marc Gasol
(20-20) 90 @ 96 (17-20)
Rudy Gay celebrates after knocking down a jumper in the Grizzlies win at the Fedex Forum Friday night.
Player Of The Game:
Rudy Gay
Quote Of The Game:
"We stuttered out of the gates in both the 1st and 3rd quarters and that really hurt us tonight. It seemed like we were getting good looks at the basket...we just weren't getting our shots to fall. Rudy took center stage in the 3rd and from that point on, we were just fighting to get back into it. In both of our previous meetings this year against Memphis, we've managed to emerge victorious. But with the 2nd half of the season upon us, our guys have to realize that the opposing teams we face are going to be giving just a little bit more out there. We have to do the same." - Wolves Head Coach Kurt Rambis
