Heat Looking To Add Point Guard, Daniels Available
The Heat are rumored to be looking to add a veteran point guard to their roster after Chris Quinn's slow start in the 2009-10 season.
Quinn said he always will be underestimated "because of the way I look. I don't pass the look test.''
Regardless, where do the Wolves fit into all of this?
Antonio Daniels has yet to see a minute of playing time in Minnesota after being placed on the trading block before the start of the season. Kahn understands Daniels' desire for more playing time and for that reason, is looking to deal him.
Daniels brings veteran postseason experience (part of Spurs championship team in 1999) that could be valuable to a Heat team looking to make another run at the playoffs.
But don't think he's doing it just to be a nice guy. Kahn wants to get the $6.6 million contract of Daniels off of his head, but he says he'd be willing to take expiring contracts in exchange.
With Daniels' contract set to expire at the end of the year, the Heat will still be able to retain their financial flexibility heading into free agency of 2010, where their 1st priority will be to resign Dwyane Wade.
The trade talks between the Wolves and Nets appear to be at a standstill due to financial ramifications at this point. Perhaps the Heat could be brought in to complete a possible 3 team trade.Last edited by mfbmike; 10-09-2009, 12:36 PM.Comment
