Mavs Take Advantage Of Loose D, 25th Win Continues To Elude Wolves

    Starting Lineups:
    Jonny Flynn PG Jason Kidd
    Wayne Ellington SG Jason Terry
    Corey Brewer SF Josh Howard
    Kevin Love PF Dirk Nowitzki
    Al Jefferson C Erick Dampier

    (24-25) 108 @ 120 (25-24)

    Player Of The Game:

    Dirk Nowitzki

    Quote Of The Game:
"Our defense has definitely has been lacking as of late. The thought of getting that 25th win and improving upon the 24 wins from a season ago is on the back of everyones minds and it's keeping us from playing the kind of basketball this team is capable of. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. Teams will make you pay if you leave them open, expecting them to miss. We just need to take it 1 game at a time. We do that and we'll be fine." - Wolves GM David Kahn

lol I check back in and see you lost to my lovable buncha scrubs, not once but twice....lol @ Hughes playing well, I really hate that this game made him so overrated....he's easily one of the Knicks I don't like one bit

Still flirting with .500 though, so Wolves still have time

Jefferson Named To First NBA All-Star Team As Starter

The NBA announced Thursday that Al Jefferson was selected as a starter for the Western Conference in a vote of the fans for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, to be held in Dallas.

Jefferson finished as the top vote-getter among Western Conference centers earning earning him his first appearance to the mid-season classic. Jefferson is Minnesota's first All-Star since Kevin Garnett in 2007.

Though he is a natural power forward, the 6-foot-10 bruiser has played center for the Timberwolves all season and has the numbers to stack up against any big man in the Western Conference. He is averaging just under 21 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Ironically though, Jefferson posted slightly better 23/11 averages a season ago but failed to make the All-Star team.

"Al's got All-Star numbers, there's no question about that," Wolves Head Coach Kurt Rambis said. "I've always said it though, you have to have team success as well, to have individual success. I think that is where his trip to last year's All-Star game hit a speed bump. This year the team is playing extremely well and a lot of that has to do with how well Al has performed out there."

The Wolves currently sit at 24-26 and are in the thick of a tight Western Conference playoff hunt.

“This is great news for Al and our organization,” Rambis added. “He’s put himself in this position by playing like an All-Star all season long. We feel he’s one of the top players in the league, and this selection validates it. He’s my first All-Star player as a coach and I hope he has a great time, and takes home wonderful memories.”

"His game speaks for itself," Wolves GM David Kahn explained. "Al's a tremendous, tremendous talent. He just turned 25 and should make multiple, multiple All-Star teams."

“I’m happy and excited to be named to the Western Conference team,” Jefferson said. “Obviously, I’m looking forward to my first All-Star experience. It’s a tremendous honor and accomplishment for me, my coaches, teammates and the organization.”

"It means a lot. Just growing up, before I even knew I was going to be an NBA player, just watching the All-Star games on TV; you always wanted to be there as a kid. This is one of the goals that I set for myself when I came to the NBA and I’m glad I accomplished it. I definitely think this is a sign that the Wolves of old are really coming back after being down the past few years. I have this All-Star berth and I’m sure we’ll have other All-Stars in the years to come so it’s great to see the organization coming back."

Sessions would have if you would start him

            1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
            1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"
