Season Preview
A year ago, the Browns came in as the hunter. They upset a lot of teams to go 11-5 in the regular season and win the AFC North.
This year is a whole new beast, becoming the hunted. Now they will have the bullseye on their back. Will they be like Miami and Atlanta and take step backwards or will they build off last year to get even more wins?
Last year ended on a sour note in a 45-7 loss to Denver in the AFC Divisional Round. They choked about as bad as you possibly can. This came just a week after their best performance of the season, a 45-10 win against the Patriots.
The Browns didn't make the big splash they wanted to in Free Agency but they definitely upgraded talent wise over last year.
They signed two cornerbacks in Ellis Hobbs and Tarell Brown. Both are specialist in man to man bump and run coverage, something Cleveland likes to run most of the time.
The real talent they got however was in the draft. With the first round pick, they got a talented quarterback by the name of Khris Steven-Baker. He is pretty accurate and already has a good arm.
The next pick they got a great wide reciever in Davasia Nobles. Nobles is big at 6'3", 213 lbs, and has a great jumping ability to go along with speed. He could be a great one.
So they filled their two biggest weaknesses on offense.
On defense, the players are mostly the same. All seven members of the front seven return and six will start. Rookie Keron Drovin will start over Matt Roth at the ROLB.
The secondary is much improved also with rookie Moe Biggers patroling the middle of the field. The pass coverage should allow even more creative blitzes to be dialed up.
Look for a little improvement record wise. Our prediction is 12-4.
