So Vermont has the ball at Syracuse's 49 with a minute-forty-seven left in the game leading twenty to seventeen; just a few
first downs should give them the win here in Syracuse in a game that they should have put away already if not for all the
      turnovers and injuries.

Heres the snap, and Matthews hands it off to Johnson…for a gain of two. Syracuse calls a time out. Johnson's in for
Coleman who got hurt the last drive and has been sitting down since.

One-forty-three left…heres the snap…its a counter left..Johnson's wrapped him up in backfield…and the ball is loose!
Syracuse has it! Bennett got the ball and is down at UVM's 44! Its been haunting Vermont all day and here it is again! A
fumble gives Syracuse new life in UVM territory. Oh what a horrible break for Vermont!

      -------

Syracuse ball now, with one-thirty-eight left at Vermont's 44. Syracuse is in the shotgun, three-wide…Brown drops back…
fires to Johnson across the middle, breaks a tackle, and is down at Vermont's 27! They're already in range to tie the game
      with a field goal.

      -------

One-twenty-seven left, Vermont's obviously trying to hold them to a field goal, but has gotta hope if they score a touchdown
      they do it quickly.

Brown now under center, one back and three wide…gets the ball, drops back…and hits Reed on the post…slips a tackle…
and is down at Vermont's three! Catamount fans have got to be worried as the time ticks off the clock and the Orange look
      poised to score.

      ------

Brown in shotgun…gets the snap…hands it off to Ross, who doesn't make it far…flag on the play, looks like holding. That'll
      set them back ten yards.

      ------

A minute left in the game, at UVM's ten, its second and goal. Brown with the cadence…and Sisk jumped offsides! toppling
the lineman, that'll get five yards back for Syracuse.

      ------

Still a minute left, after the defensive penalty at Vermont's five now…Brown under center, two out wide left, one right…heres
the snap…takes a step back, fires right…touchdown syracuse! He hit Reed on the slant to the right in the end-zone,
Syracuse takes the four point lead with less than a minute left! What a horrible day for the Catamounts!

      ------

Chuck Jones had a decent return to Vermont's own 30, but they still have a ways to go with fifty-one seconds left in the
      game.

      ------

Matthews back in the shotgun on first & ten…gets the snap…drops back…surveys the field…scrambles right…throws!…
incomplete. He was looking for Jones running across the middle.

      ------

Matthews still in shotgun on second & ten…receives the snap…here comes the pressure…leaves the pocket…running,
running…and he's forced to throw it away with no one open and the defense bearing down.

      ------

Leaves Vermont with a third & ten, although they will surely go for it on fourth if they have to. Matthews still in shotgun with
three wide…gets the snap from Carter…drops back…waits…runs left…steps back….fires! Caught way downfield by Jason
Williams! He's down at Syracuse's 36! What a connection! Vermont calls a timeout, their second. And Vermont has a
      chance in this game still!

      ------

Vermont has a first down with 28 seconds left in the game at their 36…Matthews gets the snap…and he's taking off! Got
room to run! He's at the forty! Thirty! Twenty! And he's taken down in bounds near the sideline at the 16 yard line! Vermont
does not call time out and here comes the hurry up!

Vermont in the shotgun…heres the snap…Matthews drops…throws! Its caught! Touchd-- No! Its not! He dropped it! No
catch! Xavier White had the ball in the end-zone but just plain dropped the ball! Oh no! He, his team and all Vermont fans
      can't believe it!

      ------

Eight seconds left in this game, Vermont still at the Orange 16, second down and the distance doesn't matter, they need a
touchdown. Matthews in the gun…has the snap…looks, looks…throws…and its incomplete. Nugent was close to making
the catch, but never really had the ball as he was hit as he tried.

      ------

Vermont is running out of downs and time here, with four seconds left this is probably the last and deciding play of the game.
Matthews in the gun, with four wide and one back. And here's the snap…he drops back…throws…incomplete. But there's
still a second left in the game! Vermont has one more chance! The pass intended for Jones was deflected and sailed out of
      bounds.

      ------

So this for sure will be the last play of the game, with one second left, on fourth down. Vermont has three out wide to the
right, with Jones by himself to the left...

      And here's the snap..Matthews drop back..he's got a man…Newsome makes the
catch…at the goal-line…TOUCHDOWN! TOUCHDOWN VERMONT! WHAT A PLAY! He caught it on the post, picked up a tackler and forced his way into the end-zone! Vermont wins! What a game!
