      Oregon 17 Stanford 14

Oregon raced out to a 17-0 lead and almost blew it against a determined Stanford squad, who capitalized on two Oregon turnovers in the 2nd half - a fumble and an INT.
Oregon's new grasskeeper Maynard's field made the game tougher. The CPU (errr Stanford's) run game was tough and consistent.
Stanford lost their QB to a season-ending knee injury in the game.
With Texas' big loss to Oklahoma, Oregon moved to #4 in the national polls.

Looks like your toughest remaining games are USC, Cal and Oregon State, all road contests. Washington should be tough as well, but you should handle them in the Autzen Zoo. I can't wait for the Civil War, good luck with your BCS hopes.

Am I the only one who thinks Autzen Zoo sounds like a concentration camp? No offense to anybody .. lol

Gonna get a few more games in this weekend.
Every game is now a Pac 10 game, which should be fun.
Got a tiny scare in my Stanford game when LaMichael James got hurt. He's gotta carry this team.

                  Oregon (#4) 35 Washington St. 0

The big news of the day for the Oregon Ducks was a change at quarterback. Coach Dave decided to bench Nate Costa after his second INT, in favour of Darron Thomas, who threw 3 TD passes and gave the Ducks mobility at the QB position.
"I am sick of the damned interceptions," said Coach Dave after the game. "Just because Costa doesn't rob people, take drugs, get impaired like that stupid Masoli doesn't mean he gets a free ride."
Washington St. was tough in the first half, only allowed 14 Oregon points, but an INT by LB Casey Matthews was the straw that broke the camel's back.
WR Lavasier Tuinei continues his solid play, with 3 TDs in the second half.
"I am continuing to use Maynard's Heisman sliders, despite the fact that he South Beached them himself," said Coach Dave to a collection of bewildered reporters and groupies.

                        Dream of perfect season over

                        UCLA 20 Oregon (#3) 14

The residents of Eugene, Oregon burned Coach Dave's house down after a horribly coached game, the decision to bench Nate Costa and the loss of their dream championship season.
"That idiot," said Oregon AD Joe McCheese, following the game. "How the hell did he ever become a Division 1 coach?"
Thankfully, for Coach Dave, the contract is iron-clad ... and he has compromising photos of several key Oregon alums.
It was a nightmarish game for new Oregon starting QB Darron Thomas who went a pitiful 12-27 for 144 yards with 3 INTs.
Thomas clearly felt the pressure in his first start.
Johnathan Franklin sliced and diced the Oregon defence with a terrific game.
UCLA kicker Kai Forbath (a 96-rated kicker) inexplicably missed all three UCLA extra points. "He must have been coached in high school by Dave," groused the Oregon AD.
UCLA got a safety in the game on yet another bad decision by Thomas.
"The coach clearly has to stop thinking he's Mike Martz," said RB LaMichael James. "Just give me the damn ball!"

Coach going back to Nate Costa

Lesson learned, says Oregon Coach Dave.
The coach announced in front of a packed news conference (the six guys who post at VSN on a Saturday night) that Nate Costa would get his job back for a critical games vs. #13 USC at the Coliseum next week (or tomorrow).
"I made a mistake," said Coach Dave, barely ducking a rotten tomato. "I have learned from it and will move on."
The coach said the team's new goal is a Pac 10 championship and to run the table to a big bowl game.
"Let's face facts," said Coach Dave, during the news conference. "The dream of a national championship is likely over."

USC cheerleaders hope to distract Oregon coach

Knowing Coach Dave as an old perv easily distracted by cheerleaders, USC's cheerleaders are limbering up for the big game.
"That guy will be such an easy mark," said USC cheerleader Nancy McPanty.
