49ers Trade FS Michael Lewis to Bears for Aromashodu

The San Francisco 49ers have traded FS Michael Lewis to the Chicago Bears for WR Devin Aromashodu. When the 49ers drafted Taylor Mays, Michael Lewis seemed to be the odd man out. The 49ers needed some depth at the WR position and Devin Aromashodu will provide that.

Aromoshodu is a 2 year veteran who has played for both Indianapolis and Chicago. Last season with Chicago Devin had 24 catches for 298 yards and 4 TD's. He will see a lot of time in the slot this season for the 49ers.

                  49ers Sign DE Adewale Ogunleye

The San Francisco 49ers have came to terms with free agent defensive end Adewale Ogunleye. The deal was for 2 years-17.38m and Adewale is expected to start opposite of RE Justin Smith. This comes just days after the 49ers traded for his former teammate WR Devin Aromashodu from Chicago.

Ogunleye is a 10 year veteran with 77.5 sacks.

Taylor Mays Carted Off The Field in 1st

It could be precautionary but FS Taylor Mays, 1st round pick, was carted off the field Sunday against the Seahawks in the 49ers opening game. Mays tweaked his leg and it's unsure of his status. Coach Singletary hasn't commented if he believes Mays will play in the home opener in Week 2 against the Saints.

LB Patrick Willis picked off Drew Brees twice in crucial 3rd down moments.

Alex Smith had a great week of practice and would come in this game confident.

One of the rare plays where Matt Cassell had time to scan the field.

SS Taylor Mays 100 yard interception return was the highlight of the game

Taylor Mays Defensive Player of the Week: Week 3

Taylor Mays 100 yard interception return was quite the play. Enough to earn him the Week 3 NFL defensive player of the week. He had 4 tackles to go along with his 100 yard interception return.

                              (3-0) (0-3)

Alex Smith was rattled most of the game and under pressure.

Michael Turner ran all over the 49ers defense which had up to this point, been spectacular.
