The 2010-2011 Boston Bruins head into the season on the heels of yet another disappointing finish to a season, one which is starting to feel like an all too familiar trend. In 2008-2009 we saw the B's bounced from the playoffs by an unlikely hero in Scott Walker. In 2009-2010 we saw a young goaltender upstage arguably the best goaltender in the league, only to be eliminated in the quarterfinals in one of the most epic collapses in hockey history.
The 2010-2011 Bruins, unfortunately, seem to have more question marks than answers heading into the new campaign. Can this team score? At many points last season we saw an offense that disappeared for games at a time, and not much has changed. The team's playmaker in Marc Savard has struggled with post-concussion symptoms, and it remains to be seen whether he even suits up in the 2010-2011 campaign. Marco Sturm continues his recovery from yet another knee injury. Can Michael Ryder bounce back from a terrible 09-10 campaign?
There is, however, a small light at the end of the tunnel, with the arrival of rookie Tyler Seguin taken #2 overall in the draft courtesy of the Phil Kessel trade. Seguin looks ready to step in immediately and contribute. How much remains to be seen.
